Everyone,
We're now just hours away from the end of another series of Big Brother. Consequently I'd like to take this golden opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved with DS:BB over the past 64 days.
Whilst the series itself may not have been as exciting as some would have liked, it's been a record-breaking series for us. We've managed over a staggering 30 million page impressions during the last nine weeks from some 400,000 unique users. The forum post count has passed a million and the member count 30,000. Our online forum user count passed 3,000 on the night of the bomb scare.
So first and foremost a massive thankyou to you, the readers, for continuing to use us and posting a diverse range of thoughts and opinions to the boards. There have been hitches along the way, but overall you are responsible for the great community which is resident here.
Secondly a mention to the other members of the DS staff, who have worked hard to keep the site running at optimum performance during periods of high activity, as well as providing support in multiple other areas of the site.
Lastly, but by no means leastly, thankyou to the amazing work of the DS:BB reporting team: Ali, Beth, Daniel, Darryl, Dek, Dianne, Emzi, Jason C, Jason P, John, Kiera, Kris, Mark, Nathan and Simon. Be it live updates, news articles or column pieces, the reporters have worked all hours, day and night, and under all sorts of circumstances, to provide a first class service.
So what now? Well, the forum is staying open for you to chat about what the housemates are up to in the outside world, and we have a dedicated subforum ready and waiting for discussion of the US Big Brother, which we'll also be covering on DS:BB. We hope also you'll join us for coverage of Fame Academy, if that's your thing, over on our brand new site DS:FA. We will of course be back next year for Big Brother 5 too!
Whether you're leaving us now or sticking around for the forseeable future, thanks again and we hope to see you again soon!
