Andrew really really loves Jessie, and probably Niamh and Samantha too. I think he's out for the younger ones

I agree he loves Jessie, but it was nice to see him give praise to Sarah as well - not that she's a favourite of his though, but I think he really was impressed ( and maybe a bit surprised ) by her performance tonight. She blew me away, anyway

Niamah, Samantha and Jessie are definately his favourites. You can tell by his face when the camera is on him during their performances.

Well clearly I have no taste either then, nor all the other supporters of those three.

You might not agree with him, and I don't always agree either, but I think he knows what he's talking about

Only that all the judges agreed that ONE of those 3 is world class.

Might not have been the same one, though...

Well, the way I see it, ALW may have said that one of the girl was 'world class' but that was based on one (small) performance. He could just as easily meant that that performance given made the girl sound world class, doesn't mean he still believes that now.

The thing is, I think on these shows, people take to heart too much out of one performance, and one comment. It's the way the show is set up, that we have to base our judging on one performance per week.

But I don't think that's how ALW + panel are judging the girls.

I think they take into account the cumulative performances and when a girl can pull out one really great performance, they'll compliment her on it, but that doesn't mean they'll continue to do so the next week when she pulls a bomb. And I think the panel knows that just because a girl can pull a 'Nancy' this week, doesn't mean they are 'good'. Consistency, after all, is far more important than being able to sporadically pull out a good show.

So I'm not taking the comment that one of the girls is 'world class' too seriously. I think ALW is intelligent enough to know not to pick a girl based on one 'world class' performance, nor to truly consider a girl 'world class' based on one performance.

In fact, I think ALW + panel are also judging based on the auditions, Nancy School, rehersals, as well as live performances. Unfortunately, we don't get to see most of that, and that may explain the peculiar opinions that the have.

I don't know who Andrew favors right now, and I'm not sure he knows either. I think he has a 'short list' of possible candidates and he probably reshuffles the ranking every week based on what he's seen in front and behind the cameras. Once some of the girls start pulling ahead, he may seriously start pulling for them as favorites.

I don't think there is a clear favourite for ALW as yet. HE does seem to really like Jessie, Rachel and to a slightly lesser extent Niamh and Sam. But judging by his reactions at the beginning of the programme does he like Keisha (and Cleo) as well?

I wouldn't say Samantha was one of his favourites (perhaps I am not paying enough attention to it though ).

I agree definitely with Niamh and Jessie, though.

Also think he has a soft spot for Keisha Did anyone else notice his "Yes!" gesture during her performance last night?

Definitely Niamh.

I mentioned that on the rankings thread

ALW said the wrong 2 were in the bottom 2 last week so he clearly does like Keisha.

Also would like to know what he meant by his opening comment that we must ignore whether they are from Scotland, Wales, Ireland or England.

Was this a plea not to vote for someone just because of where they come from OR don't vote for an English person.

It may just mean he wanted Tara in the bottom two so don't vote for her if you're Welsh (same for Ash and Scottish people) for the sake of it or he may want one of the Irish girls to get more support. I'm not sure

He can't have been referring to accents with regards to Cleo and Keisha as they had pretty good cockney accents.

Then straight after that Graham Norton started going on about where they were all from!
