due to needing a bit of a lift have been watching Fran clips on youtube and wanted to see if anyone else noticed that with mission 2 you never here what Denise thinks of Frans performance but she has that look on her face of believing every word of it, Hard to tell though as you only here about one line. Also with the rats she appeared to be the only one really not worried about it she was almost hugging the rat while helping Niamh to complete the task. How incredible is she.

Think it's time we had a poll of our own so.....

Whats everyones favourite Fran performance of the series?

Also look were over 500 posts how cool

Yeah I didn't even notice she was part of that rat task footage when it was first shown. Bless her though - she obviously knew that Niamh would be more likely to 'brave' touching the rat if she was holding it and making it seem less scary. Have to say though, I wouldn't have been too keen on the whole hug a rat task

Favourite performance has to be Somebody to Love - by a country mile

And yep over 500 posts is pretty impressive - especially as the pro-Fran ones now far outnumber the dodgy ones at the start of the thread!

Francesca! What, exactly, are you doing on page two?!

Sara27, Somebody to Love is my favourite of her voting performances, but I also think someone's gonna have to do something extra ordinarily good to knock Francesca's ALAHNM of its top spot... Keisha and Sarah got close, but will any of the rest?

I think Fran's best performance was her ALAHNM, closely followed by her Somebody To Love. But even her vocally dodgy performances were great, because she has this charisma that makes me just want to watch her.

Think Frans best was ALAHNM but loved Whistle down the wind and Tell me on a sunday

I'm with you but these three are tied closely followed by Somebody to love

Then Whats love got to do with it

And coming in just behind tied are hero and time of my life.

But goes to prove she does best at MT which we all now anyway

Just found these Diary Entries on Show and Stay- they were very supportive of our Fran check out the first few lines of 21st April Entry

Yeah sorry, should clarify when I replied I was referring to her solo performances. I also loved her sing-off and farewell performances. She's so clearly at her best with musical theatre songs - as you would expect!

As I mentioned before 'Somebody to Love' is one of the series highlights for me. It was so amazing! I'd say that was her best performance - not including ALAHNM.

And the Amy/Fran singoff was fantastic. One of the best singoffs of the series IMO. It makes me teary every time I watch it... Actually, after the Sarah/Rachel singoff I'd probably say it was the best singoff of the series.

Hot_Topics, I wonder if Fran enjoyed her coffee with Sarah the other day. Haha!

"But the performer who, for me, showed the most beautiful vocal texture and exuded the combination of strength and warmth required for the role of Nancy was Francesca Jackson - who was astonishingly among the bottom two in the public vote on Sunday night. She then delivered a virtuoso vocal rendition of Lloyd Webber’s “Tell Me On A Sunday” ""

Couldn't have put it better myself - good on him. I think that writer likes "our Fran". He did a really nice interview with her as well on that site. I like him!

I think so to. Bless him shame though that he didn't have further weeks to write such lovely comments about Fran though. Maybe if his works were published in a newspaper she would have got more votes and still been in the running.

I guess we haven't managed to find anyone who's going to Swansea next Saturday that we can bully into recording for all of us who cant go yet have we????

If not all those Linked to Frans facebook bombard her with requests for a recording or at least MP3 audio to be posted to her facebook page and we might get lucky.

We've got to keep ourselves off the second page... I wish Fran was still in the competition. Or if not Fran then Sarah. I miss having a favourite to support.

It must be your settings. Have you got Parental Controls on? Only joking. I'll cut and paste it here if it will let me.

Reality TV merged with Musical Theatre again this weekend as presenter Graham Norton reunited with the “Phantom Lord” Webber in BBC’s I’d Do Anything, which aims to cast the roles of Oliver and Nancy for the upcoming Cameron Mackintosh production of Oliver! at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Following in the footsteps of previous searches, which earned Connie Fisher and Lee Meade leading roles in The Sound Of Music and Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, twelve potential Nancys sang their hearts out in a bid to gain the votes of the viewing public.

These Musical theatre “X-Factor” hybrids have been scorned by many people who are dismayed by the concept of casting musical theatre leads via television screens and phone lines. But these doubting Thomases seem to be blind to the facts that not only does this kind of series give a unique chance for genuine talent to shine and be recognized but also gives prime time TV exposure to musical theatre and creates a brand new target audience for West End musicals.

The standard of the first week’s performances are clear proof that the girls selected are all serious contenders worthy of a West End leading role. All the girls impressed, while some impressed more than others. Both Rachel Tucker and Jessie Buckley gave highly energized performances that demonstrated their great vocal talent and their ability to “connect” with an audience. But the performer who, for me, showed the most beautiful vocal texture and exuded the combination of strength and warmth required for the role of Nancy was Francesca Jackson - who was astonishingly among the bottom two in the public vote on Sunday night. She then delivered a virtuoso vocal rendition of Lloyd Webber’s “Tell Me On A Sunday” as she and Amy Booth-Steel went “head to head” in a sing-off for Lord Webber, who decided to “save” Francesca, while Amy became the first singer to be eliminated from the competition.

Much has been made in the press of the fact that Miss Jackson recently shared the stage with Denise van Outen, who - along with John Barrowman and Barry Humphreys - is one of the trio of “judges” for the TV show. But anyone who saw (and heard) Francesca in the recent “remix” of Rent at the Duke Of York’s Theatre will know that she is a bona fide vocal powerhouse and has stage presence “in spades”. If the viewing public come to recognize this and judge her by her performances, Francesca could still be a leading contender to win the role of Nancy in what promises to be a thrilling contest over the next nine weeks.

And if that contest is not enough to make critics of reality TV casting shows warm to the series, even the hardest of hearts could not fail to be won over by the dozen endearing boys who are endeavouring to win the role of Oliver. On Saturday all 12 boys treated the studio audience and TV viewers to a rollicking rendition of “Food, Glorious Food”, while in Sunday’s results show, the first boy to be chosen to go through to the semi-final of the contest, Gwion from Carmarthen in Wales, sang Art Garfunkel’s “Bright Eyes”, backed by the rest of the boys. From the evidence of what has been shown of the boys on screen so far, producer Cameron Mackintosh and his fellow “talent scout” Andrew Lloyd Webber have an abundance of talent to choose from, as during the coming weeks they try to choose 3 “Olivers” to share the role on stage.

All in all this was a highly promising opening weekend for a show that is likely to continue to be compulsive viewing for most open minded fans of musical theatre in the UK.

Don't think I've found this clip anyone got a link?

I said to my mum how insulting I felt that was to Fran her being one of the smaller girls, It was pointed out that maybe it is due to the shape of her face she looks bigger than she is as Rachel and Ashley both looked smaller than Fran facially.

I think though Barry wasn't allowed to be nice as it was Fran and couldn't think of anything to pick on in her performance so came up with something obscure as it would stick in everyones mind.
