Yep that pretty much sums up what we've all been saying in this thread for the past month! Nice to hear a 'new' person say it though

Oh and imo Somebody To Love was one of the best performances by anyone on the show by a country mile

And if Fran was there they wouldn't be complaining that they have a choice of.......

As Fran had buckets of Grace, Grit, and could show so much emotion in any performance - She would have answered all there prayers if only they'd not made her so nervous that she didn't portray herself as well as we know she could be in the begining.

Now looking back on all the Nancys I have to say Fran is the one I would have given the role to, its a real shame she never got the chance to prove herself.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I adore Sarah, and she was by far and away my favourite IDA contestant, but I'm not sure I'd call her my favourite "Nancy". I do believe she'd have nailed the role (and I'm still bitter that she left when she did ), but there are other things out there that are more suited to her. Fran, on the other hand, was perfect for the role of Nancy, for all the reasons you've mentioned. I definately think the panel being over-critical of her damaged her confidence to the extent she was never able to show her true potential.

1.Amazing actress.
2.Beautiful tone to her voice.
3.Looks the part (moreso than any of the finalists, at least)
4.Has already proven she has the ability to captivate audiences (RENT reviews, anyone? I don't think I've read a single one that doesn't single her out as the best performer!)

It's just a shame that so many people (myself included, to an extent) didn't realise this until she left the competition. If I were her, I'd be waiting for an oportunity to stick my fingers up to ALW... but I think Fran has a lot more dignity than I do!

I think she was one of the most versatile Nancies too. She'll go on to bigger and better things.

I'm sure your right and from the snippet of a review I've seen from Jay the concert in Swansea wen't down very well last night.

Any chance we can skip the week and get to the final next week just to see Fran and Sarah again please. And maybe once the show's over we'll get good news about what the two of them are upto next as Sarah appears to have been very busy with auditions and stuff since she left.

Can't wait to see both of them in something more deserving and so wan't to see gwion as oliver as well as he is just the cutest.

But also agree it's a shame that so many peopple didn't realise how good Fran was till after she'd left.

It's bad, but I'm more excited about seeing Sarah and Fran next Saturday than I am about finding out who's won... As much as I like them all, I don't know how much that says for the remaining contestants... heh! And aye, hopefully once the final's past we'll get some good news about upcoming projects!

Ah, thanks for that sara! She'll be back on our screens on Saturday - and it sounds like she's in fine voice!

She sure is. And according to the interview she has been offered a couple of things but her agent is trying to make sure she gets what is right for her. So fingers crossed we'll here something soon.

Ah. It does make me feel sad that she's not in her rightful place in the final though. Well, I don't want to say who I'd want her to replace because there are fans of all three remaining girls here, but it would have been nice to see her vying for the role... ah well, hopefully we'll be seeing her in something bigger and better than ol' Nancy!

This thread has hardly ever been off the first page, so that says something for Fran's popularity.

I think she should have gone further in the comp, but having said that I don't think the DVO connection has helped her.

I think unfortunately a lot of things went against Fran in IDA, meaning that a lot of people didn't realise her potential to be a brilliant Nancy (or just brilliant generally!) until it was too late. Hopefully she'll get a little chance to remind everyone of what they've missed in the group performance on Saturday.

I am also convinced there is a great role waiting for her somewhere, and I can totally understand why she and her agent want to make sure she makes the right choice, especially as she didn't seem sure in the exit interview as to whether IDA had been the best career move.

I'd rather wait just that bit longer if it means seeing Fran in a role that she is truly happy and confident about

I know what you mean - Have seen somewhere that she should be announcing something soon so lets hope she has found that right role.

HT have you seen the new pics posted by Jay of Sat? Some are even worse than the last ones think she might have to be having a few words with him about them.

Were thinking of petitioning we've decided that the best Nancy Oliver duet would have been Fran and Gwion - She's just going to have to do another contest just so we can see that.
