Her profile says 5'5" but I would guess at more like 5'3" either that or the others were all around 5'8" tell you better next week

As I'm about 5'6"

She is very tall but even the two females in the ensemble were in tiny heels and as tall as fran in her 3 inch heels so she could be 5'5" and the others were all just that bit taller. hard to tell from the stage though.

But Siobhan was even better than I remember her from HDYSAPLM as well I Just can't get over how brilliant they both were live

Just had a blurb email on Can't smile......which may be of interest.

'I'D DO ANYTHING'S' FRANCESCA JACKSON JOINS CHESNEY
AND SIOBHAN IN NEW MANILOW MUSICAL

Francesca Jackson, popular finalist from hit BBC show 'I'd Do Anything' has been cast in the role of 'Lucy' for the forthcoming tour of Bill Kenwright's brand new musical 'CAN'T SMILE WITHOUT YOU'.

Jackson, whose life has revolved around performing on stage since the tender age of five, was watched by millions on the reality show which searched to find Nancy for the West End production of 'Oliver'. As a member of the National Youth Musical Theatre, she appeared in Whistle Down The Wind and Bugsy Malone before going on to train at the Mountview Academy in London. In 2006, she was in Rod Stewart's Number One Touring musical Tonight's The Night, whilst most recently her rich toned and powerful vocal talents were displayed as New York lawyer Joanne Jefferson in West End musical Rent at the Duke of York Theatre.

Francesca's appearance as a finalist on 'I'd Do Anything' saw her perform a range of songs to millions of viewers every week. "Being on TV was fantastic exposure and I couldn't have asked for a bigger or better audition". On her casting for the musical she added, "I'm so excited and thrilled to get the chance to create an original character in an original show with such a broad range of classic songs".

Francesca joins pop icon Chesney Hawkes, best known for his Number One Smash Hit 'The One and Only', which spent no less than five weeks at the top of the UK Single Charts and fellow television finalist Siobhan Dillon, runner up in the BBC's TV show 'How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?

Anyone within reach of Dartford (The Orchard) might find this useful -
The first 50 people to ring up and book their tickets for the fabulous Can't Smile Without You and who quote the word 'Chesney' when booking will receive 2 tickets for the price of 1.

I saw 'Can't Smile Without You' last night and thorougly enjoyed it. The whole cast were excellent.

Fran doesn't have a huge role, and in fact it was ages before she sang for the first time ... but she does have a very powerful voice - and very different to Siobhan Dhillon's (she has an incredible voice too) ... so that worked really well.

It's a fun show - but don't watch it if you hate Barry Manilow's music

Hi guys

I am a huge fan of Frans (as well as most of the other girls)

I don't know whether this has been discussed before (apologies if it has) but has anyone read this article?

http://www.rte.ie/arts/2008/0421/iddoanything.html

completely inaccurate! Francesca Hopkins and Ashley Burrows ... quite funny though, in it's way.

Theatre Coventry Fun and fluffy sounds of the sixties
Sep 16 2009 By Helen Thomas

Dreamboats and Petticoats, Belgrade Theatre, Coventry. Running until Saturday. Running time 2hrs 30 mins.

THIS feel good show is fun and lively and a chance to return to the world of 1961 where music was the centre of a teenager’s world.

Dreamboats and Petticoats is basically a series of songs made popular in the late 50s and early 60s linked together with a fluffy and enjoyable, if predictable, storyline.

The plot is simple and revolves around Bobby, whose only wish is to own an electric guitar and get the popular (and busty) Sue to go out with him.

And despite a few technical glitches with sound and the odd weak vocal the opening night was a hit with the audience.

The cast is certainly and play and sing all the songs live on stage, although the second half is more polished and lively than the first.

Francesca Jackson, a finalist in the BBC’s I’d Do Anything, captures the era in her role as the vampish Sue and is given plenty of opportunities to show off her powerful voice.

Contrasting her is Lauren Hood, as the geeky but talented song writer Laura, who gives a sweet but impressive performance.

Clare Ivory, as Donna, and Wayne Smith, as Ray, also shine while Peter Gerald has moments of brilliance as the embarrassing dad.

While Dreamboats and Petticoats lacks the edginess of Grease or the enthusiasm of High School Musical it is still a fun piece of escapism and a welcome return to a more innocent age.

What Helen Thomas needs to remember is that it was only there first night also i was luckly enough to see the opening night at bromley when it first started its tour in feb before it went in to the west end that was a bit shakey now look at it selling out most nights & very poished certainly up there with grease

its going to take time i'm really looking to see this cast specially fran at bromley in november

Fran should send the bit in bold to all the judges on IDA with some humble pie for them to eat.
