The Dame Awful Experience Is Still With Us

I don't think he's awful, just not very useful. Tonight, he was better with his criticism. But he suffers from being too nice and ambiguous with his critique to be of any use. I wonder if the producers purposely put someone like that on the panel...?

Yes, he was marginally better yesterday, but still a bit cringeworthy.

I thought he was ok last night - and I've never thought his comments were lecherous, as he's been accused of on other threads.

To his accusers I'd say, Get real, he's hardly going to perve on a 17 year old girl on national television.

Sorry, I'm one of those that think him lecherous. He toned it down a bit last night, but still got all hot under the collar when reviewing Niamh's and Samantha's performances. He leered at them and that's just plain inappropriate, IMO.

I do find it more distasteful when these remarks come from an older man, but I'm fighting my own prejudice here, because such behaviour should be deemed inappropriate whatever the age of the lech.

Appreciate? Yes. Slobber? No.

Fair enough - and I can understand why some consider his remarks inappropriate but imo I think his persona has been built on a certain image and perhaps he's playing up to that. Probably a mistake, and I hope we see less of it in weeks to come. I don't think he harbours lecherous thoughts of these young girls but, if his remarks are being misconstrued, now is the time to moderate them.
