Hi,

Yesterday I got my old 28" philips widescreen out of storage. It was working fine the last time I used it (about 3 years ago) but its been kept in a very cold room all this time and now the picture is constantly flickering.

I know its not the input thats dodgy because the channel numbers and TV's OSD are flickering also so I know its not just the case of a dodgy scart.

I was a great TV and I was hoping to be able to use is as a bedroom TV in my new place and im totally gutted now

This may sound stupid, but I thought if it was very cold on the inside it may just need a while to warm up....but it was on for 2 hours yesterday and the problem didnt go away.

Any advice? Or any idea how much it would cost to repair?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Don't switch it on,that could lead to more serious damage.
If it is condensation that is the problem, then just leave the tv(off) to acclimatize, for a few days, then switch and hopefully the problem will disappear.

My old Phillips 28in Crt is currently at the bottom of my beneath the new LCD panel, worked for twenty years without a hitch so I'm fond of mine too.

Give it time to dry out, maybe, condensation inside.
