Tiscali TV replay vs BBC WiiiPlayer

Does anyone know how Tiscali TV's replay content for BBC channels compares to the content offered by the BBC iPlayer?

I personally think that watching programmes on a PC is pretty naff compared to a decent TV, but now it seems you can watch iPlayer on a TV if you've got a Wii or Virgin Media.

If the content is the same, then great, but if it is less as I suspect, when will Tiscali bolt on the iPlayer to its TV service?

Surely the big question now is 'What's next for the Wii'? 4oD? movies on demand? With over 2 million units already sold in the UK could this be a threat to Tiscali TV???

I doubt it will be a threat.

The Tiscali replay for BBC is imo very good, massive range of recorded channels and much easier than iplayer plus i have the comfort of sitting in front of a big TV on a Sofa with a remote instead of sitting watching pixalated video's on my laptop or my computer.

I have a Wii, and the Video is just as naff as on a Computer screen, plus 4oD and Movies need to be paid for, the iplayer was made free by the BBC, i wouldn't want pay a monthly subscription to the Wii.

And plus, the exact same thing could be said to Virgin media, why wouldn't the Wii be a threat to that as well? what, just because that has the iplayer?

There is undoubtedly more content on BBC Iplayer, even just from the last week, than on BBC replay on tiscali (just count the number of programmes available). I don't know why there is this discrepancy- I've queried it before, but no one seems to have any idea. I think tiscali will most likely bolt on iplayer to their tv service in the end, especially as it could potentially allow iplayer programmes to be saved onto the PVR.
