I have created an movie in iMOVIE 4 and now want to burn to a DVD. I have tried iDVD but it won't recognise my external DVD burner. (I have a G4 with CD RW/DVDROM drive only). I tried burning through toast but not sure the correct settings to burn it in. I have tried various and it burns the DVD ok but then when I try to play on my DVD player it won't work properly. Also DVD player doesn't come up on the mac when I re insert into the computer drive.

I can't help you with the technical side of this, but I think you'd do better looking for your answer on the Apple website, or one of the Apple specific forums.

Try some keywords in Google, this usually helps me with any of my Mac problems.

You need to upgrade to much newer versions of the OS and iMovie. Early versions do not support external burners.
