It does seem very inappropriate. Not just because it is supposed to be a good, clean family show but also there are young children at those auditions.
I know, very small children dressed in their costumes and all excited about their audition - lets throw a naked man into the mix! For the kids!
The UK's rather crass facination with naked men already permeates drama and advertising on TV but I would have thought Britains Got Talent would have been safe...

How true!
If it was of course the other way around, it would be very much scorned upon

And having to compete against kids as well (like the choirboy)... It's mad.
I'm hardly prudish but there's a time and place for it.
My kids love this show, but I must admit, some of the acts I sometimes feel are pushing it just a tiny bit, like that man in the posing pouch next week....Same with some of the more "exotic" or scantily clad, female acts...I hope I'm not too prudish, but very young children watch this show, and besides, I don't particularly enjoy watching Piers Morgan and Simon Cowell getting hot under the collar!
