I always find Janet's commentaries very amusing - in Black Orchid she commented on how cold she was filming it (in October), and does PD shave his chest.

I think the banter between Janet and 'Pete' is good fun. Waterhouse and Sutton can be bit dull (and you always get the impression the others are ever-so-gently taking the p**s out of Waterhouse).

The 'mocking' of Beryl Reid in the Earthshock commentary is particularly entertaining.

LOL, I'll have to give that a listen.

I did feel she was stupendously miscast in that role.

No way. I've listened to several commentaries by Sladen and several by Fielding. I can't imagine how you can think that Lis Sladen is more negative than Fielding on the whole. Fielding and Davison are by far the most negative pair I've heard to record any of these commentaries. Although it's never been any secret that Peter doesn't consider Doctor Who one of his finest hours. I guess it's not much wonder people say the show went downhill in the '80s when the people making it didn't have much confidence in what they were doing. They make their lack of confidence in the stories, the effects and the way the show was made very clear. At least I admire them for their honesty. I thought the Warriors of the Deep commentary was very interesting, especially how their feelings really came out about JNT and the directors.

I enjoy their commentaries too. They pull the shows apart but they do it in a very funny way at times. I just think it seems like they enjoyed working together but they didn't actually like the show very much.

For me she spoils the commentaries.

She literally does not shut up. I have not heard her say one positive thing about the show at all.

For me, her acting is incredibly weak. Watch her in group scenes and she is spectacularly dreadful.

When Tom Baker falls to his "death" she cant even keep her head in line with the two other actors.

I would LOVE to hear what Sarah Sutton and Matthew Waterhouse have to say - yet whenever Janet Fielding is on they are battered into the background.
