Upset stomach and the runs when abroad.
I'm going to India next week. I'm packing some Imodium, but can anyone recommend some natural remedies I could take when over there, if the need arose.

might be worth taking some dioralyte rehydrating powder, if the worst happens they will help, also a sterilising kit, which most camping places sell, just in case you are stuck in the wilds. Immodium is ok, but it stops everything in its tracks, which I have never liked the idea of. An antispasmodic is worth having, just ask your pharmacist for some, tell them where you are off to. I wouldn't be brave enough to go, I couldn't physically carry the necessary amount of bleach and bacterial wipes
but have a lovely time, everyone I have spoken to has had a great holiday and been fine, with no deli-belly.

Hi bubblesdevere
I'll be in Goa. All the negative reports are not putting me off, there have been plenty of people telling me how good a time it will be. There'll be two of us so we intend to look out for each other. I've got a stomach that can digest anything but once in a while decides to rebel. My concern is being incapacitated enough to not be too far away from a toilet. With my belief in prevention being better than cure, I will be care about what I drink and eat, I'm just wondering if anyone here has experience of homeopathic local remedies or ingredients I could find in places like Goa. I did Thailand with no problems, but I'm older now and need to be more careful. |

Ta for that bubbles. What's stopping you from making the step to real adventure. I thank a good friend that convinced me to take a chance, and it's been fabulous doing places I've only previously read or dreamt about.
