OK, I was going to have ham with my baked spud but there were three of us and only enough ham for two. Nipped round to the shop and they were out of ham so I picked up a tin of this. Bloody disgusting! Oh well, that's one thing I won't be putting in my gob again..

I make my own chilli. I would not buy it in a tin. You don't know what goes into it!

Just looking at the label in passing put me right off, it looks crap. It would have to be fantastic to be worth getting over making it.

That's the first tin of anything i've bought in years. Thing is, when the rest of the meal was going to be ready in 10 minutes I just grabbed something off the shelf. I agree, you don't know what's in it.
And moisie, yep, it was crap!

Edit: I do buy tinned tomatoes and tinned tuna.

I think it signifies everything that is wrong with modern convenience food. I mean, Chilli is a piece of piss to make and you can make vats of the stuff and freeze it.

Don't forget tinned potatoes! Could anything be more pointless or vile tasting?

So what you're saying is that you don't think it will be Delia Cheat Ingredient anytime soon

I went through a stage where I had Stagg Chilli on a regular basis, but I had to stop, usually I quite enjoy and savour the smell of my farts, but after eating Stagg Chilli for a week they even started to make me feel sick, I have never smelled anything so grotesque in my life.

I bought a tin of this stuff when somebody on this board recommended it, though I won't say who it was.

When I eventually tried it I thought it pretty bad and couldn't eat more than the initial forkful. The starlings seemed to enjoy it though - but I read somewhere that birds only have four (4) tastebuds.

Some people must buy it as the cans are always on the middle shelves in supermarkets. Very odd!

I don't get this! A slice of ham on a baked potato? On it's own?

Pre-chopped vegetables or pre-grated cheese are more pointless than something in a tin, at least the tin could be left in store for absolute emergencies. If you haven't the time to grate cheese then why are you even attempting to cook something?

The meal was ham, baked spud and salad. I said nothing about plonking a piece of ham on a baked potato. I just didn't mention the salad.

Tastes fake lol and the 'meat' is like jelly, I got a tin for handiness as the oh and daughter were staying elsewhere that night, never again, the lidl one is quite nice and has proper meat in it, but making your own is so cheap and easy!
