Another stunning performance. from Ashley this week. People are starting to wake up and take notice of her immense talent. She takes the rough with the smooth...she is a fighter and so is Nancy. With a musical theatre song-we could see just where her talent lies.

Glad to see the judges are coming to their senses. ALW's comment was not in the least constructive and to be honest it just came across as cruel.

I like Ashley too and I agree ALW's comment came across as cruel and unhelpful, but I doubt that he regrets it. All his comments are quite calculated, in my view.

All during Nancy School, Ashley was one of the strongest and obvious contenders for Nancy, however until last weeks live show she seemed to be fading into the background, but we seemed to get the Old Ashley back last week, which was great to see, however although surprised by ALW comments I can see where he is coming from and feel he had a fair point, for me Ashley is a stronger actress than singer and although she has a very good voice, it does not seem to be a natural voice, a natural talent, it seems to be a voice that has been worked on and trained in to sounding good, and when that is the case you sometimes dont have the natural tones and colours of a more naturally talented singer, who has discovered ther sound all by themselves and then had training to improve it, for example like Sarah, Rachel and Jessie.

I think thats a really good assesment. She seems to be a really good actress from the brief clips that we saw of the acting task (not much to go on I know but she did seem very good) and she is a good singer and a good performer but her voice does lack that special something. I still like her though and hope she does well

Yes you are absolutely right, she has the talent and is a good all round performer and honestly I think really could do the role, but she does lack some of that magic and sparkle I see in other performers.

I think we have not seen enough of this girl yet-but this will change-she is the dark horse of the competition for sure.

I think your possibly right,I am not and have never doubted her talent, but seeing whether her sparkle is there, we just haven't seen it yet, however this is why I am surprised that people see her as the dark Horse, when during Nancy School she was a leading contender and shone bucketloads, I dont know whether she has just lost it and is getting it back gradually or whether it is just lost on TV. It is just a shock to see her not be as much of a contender as everyone initially thought.

This year is very open competition-wise and Ashley has as good a chance as the others.

I didn't understand ALW's comment either, but I think it was probably the kiss of death. He made a similar comment about Daniel last year (no one would want to listen to your voice for 2 hours), and Daniel was gone at the first possible opportunity.
I agree that she probably doesn't have the best voice in the competition, but I wonder if that is so important to play Nancy? She has a slightly tough kind of charm, and loads of acting ability...I would personally far rather see her get the part ahead of Niamh or Rachel. BUT, it's true that ALW's remarks are very calculated........not sure if she will be around for very much longer.

We didn't see any footage of her at Nancy school!! You know she was a leading contender there because you have "insider knowledge"

People are seeing her as the dark horse because we're only just getting to know her. Certain people (Jessie, Jodie, Rachel - girls with a "story") have all been pushed to the forefront right from the beginning. We've always been aware of them during auditions, callbacks, nancy school, first tasks...

Ashley's never been portrayed as "HEY GENERAL PUBLIC LOOK HERE AND VOTE FOR THIS GIRL - SHE IS THE WINNER" in the way that some of the others have. But now people are beginning to realise that she is very talented and could potentially be a great, ballsy, funny, sexy Nancy.

(Look into my eyes, not around the eyes... these are not the Nancies you're looking for...)

Didn't you mention that the she was initially one of the judges' favorites? Is she no longer seen as a front contender by the panel now?

I think Ashley's odds are insane. I got her for 25-1. Absolute bargain in a very wide-open competition.

She may not be a runaway favourite but I believe her to be in a lot of people's top 4 which, along with being the only Scottish gal there will more than likely keep her in right up to the final 3!

She could sneak up the side and stand a good chance of winning.

I wouldn't say her odds are insane. Although I hope I am wrong, I think Ashley is one of the contestants, along with Keisha and Francesca, most likely to be in the bottom two this week and, if she is, I wouldn't rate too highly her chances of being saved.

i love ashley..and im delighted shes getting the recognition she deserves.she was actually my second choice after nancy nancy at nancy school.im torn between her and jessie who i both think have the complete package.

I don't care whether she's the best singer or not, she's the one I'd pay to go and see performing.

I agree! the line "no self confidence"< was extremely moving.

Ashley 4 Nancy. Period. She IMO has the best acting chops in the group, ALW dished out some cruel comments this week, not even in the slightest bit constructive, made me dislike him even more. Anyway back to Ash, she's beautiful, has a lovely voice and she can act. She broke my heart last week when she sang "the winner takes it all" so much emotion.

Couldn't believe my ears when ALW called her boring.

I think it would be a blessing in disguise if she were voted off this week. ALW,s contemptuous attitude towards her can't be good for her confidence or future job prospects. I think she is a sweetheart and has been utterly shafted with appalling song choices - Witney, Abba and Duffy -because she doesnt meet ALW's personal vision of Nancy ie Rachel, Sam or Jessie.

Hope she manages to come through this with her head held high.

Anyone that challenges Rachel AWL will get rid of.....just like he did with Daniel.....its fixed
