Most of the women this year are Ballbreakers and most of the men would sell a member of the family to get ahead.
I know it sounds like an Extreme view but i cant help shake the feeling after seeing how Katie went onto other things
this lot are just trying to be 100% more OTT than even she was?
Is the show suffering from the same fate as Big brother?

I just think it's more and more about trying to stitch your team members up than trying to win the tasks

in previous years I remember the team that won usually had quite a good time doing it and although there were arguments you could always tell the winners and losers. Now they are all just so hateful to each other all the time it gets a bit draining to watch

tonight, when the only decent person in the whole contest got fired I think it was a real shame. He should have been given one more chance to prove himself, he was a grafter and a decent bloke and I actually got the impression SAS was sorry to see him go.

I think they have really overcooked it this year with bitches and bullies. The first couple of series had some credibility but now they seem to have selected people who will cause upset and very little else.

I think as usual the producers have gone for the obvious - they saw how much publicity the revolting Katie Hopkins generated last year and have put a dozen of her clones on this years show.

Its getting to be like Big Brother in the Boardroom.

I agree It's clear to me that the programme has 'jumped the shark' and instead of relying on the previous model, is now promoting a Big Brother or Survivor type gameshow with focus on appalling behaviour, bullying and lack of respect to the others.

If you gauge any of this lot against some of the previous contestants, e.g. Kristina for example, very few of them appear to have any real business acumen and ability to work in a manner that resembles professionalism.

Instead we have a selection of people whose game plan is clearly that rather than focusing on winning the task as the prime objective, is instead to obstruct, sabotage, and focus on blame and scapegoating, then rely on their ability to bully and BS in the boardroom. At the same time there are others whose only reason for existence in the programme is to be the target of this appalling behaviour.

How these people are escaping being fired is bewildering when if they behaved like this in the real world they’d be out on their ear in no time. I can only assume that the final position Sir Alan is looking to fill is one which requires a backstabbing bully.

I think you're right about jumping the shark. The show is fun- but it's no longer about business practice.

Agree with every word you say. On the Apprentice - You're Fired the lovely Simon did not have a bad word to say about anyone, he was gracious and knew his limitations. It must have been obvious at the audition stage what his personality is (last guy's finish last). Do you think he was put in as a counter-balance?

Yes they are all there for the wrong reasons you cite above. I don't earn anything like it but is £100,000 a year a good salary for a true high-flyer, don't think so. I won't stop watching yet but if they produce another cast of characters like this lot I will.

I seem to recall that Alan said at the end of last series that if he had known what Katie was really was like he would never have put her in the final (although that was bull because Nick and Margaret kept on hint hinting to him) and he does not condone such behaviour.

Yet, he hangs on to the likes of Jenny and Claire like gold dust.

Grace (from BB5) perfected the middle class bitch from hell story - they don't need to use it in every single reality show now. :yawn:

As a poster commented on the other thread - sralan says at the beginning that he 'doesnt' like backstabbers' - so why does he hang onto them at the expense of straightforward contestants then/

Is silly the way it's going the Big Brother route and relying on conflict between contestants rather than the whole focus on the tasks aspect.

Because this is an en-ter-tain-ment programme it is not a documentary.

In reality, what businessman in Sir Alan's position would recruit someone to a reasonably senior and well-paid position by seeing how well they sell fish, do laundry, run the catering in a pub, take photos or make ice-cream. Most recruitment strategies do not follow this format!

Clearly, the longer this programme goes on, the candidates will learn from previous series, seeing what works and what doesn't, like the:

1. I'll give 1500000% effort.
2. I'm the best salesman in the Universe.
3. Make me project manager next time.
4. Give me a chance to prove myself.
5. There are winners and err, um, other people.
6. I've got so much to offer.
etc, etc

Consequently the programme becomes a characiture of itself. Enjoy it for what it is, not a serious search for an employee. I am sure that Sir Alan already knows who he wants in the final 4, and manufactures the boardroom to get the result he wants. In the meantime, he'll keep the colourfulls in cos it makes good telly.

Just said the same thing on another thread, so agree totally! This series is so noticeably about entertainment (and I have to admit it is quite entertaining to watch these eejits tearing into each other), but one won't learn anything about business from it.

Actually I think they do make Katie look human. Remember, Katie kept most of her "bitchin'" for the camera. With the exception of "the northerner" she was charm personified to her fellow contestants! Katie was ruthless but, in an intelligent clever manner, whereas this lot seem to be more transparent than a bunch of school yard bullies!

Katie was a 'sweet smelling angel fluttering on fluffy clouds' compared to Jenny, claire and Helene

Katie didn't give people evil looks , just flirtatious and patronising ones. The look that Jenny flashed to Alex about Claire in the boardroom last night was pure evil!

The thing is though, I think it's because they're having to scrape the bottom of the barrell for tasks now. I mean, other than the classic Shopping Channel task, and "Sell as much as you can out of these few items" task.. the tasks are poor compared to what they used to be. I remember in earlier series, they would spend hours brainstorming before they even began. This year, I haven't seen a flipchart board in sight!

I agree, I think alot of this years crop make Katie look human. I never thought I'd say that. Its funny I have been watching series one on the internet and it makes you realise how much more respectful and business like alot of the first bunch were compared to this years. People like Tim and even at times Paul.
