hey

i've currently got T-mobile payg but it's costing me a lot, and i want to upgrade to get better value.

i want to keep my handset for the moment, so i'm looking for a sim-only deal.

i would not want to spend more than £20 a month, and i text a lot more than i call.

there are a lot of networks offering these new deals and i wanted to know which has the best value for money for what i want.

any help and advice would be appreciated if anyone's had experience.

i'm sure some networks will be better than others so i'd also be interested to know which network is the best, with extras, customer service etc.

thanks

Our £15 one gives 150 mins and 1000 texts (Virgin)

But the T-Mobile £20 is pretty awesome = 400 mins and unlimited texts (doesn't include voicemail)

If you have a Virgin phoneline or cable, try Virgin Mobile's 300/300 (300 texts and 300 minutes) for £10 per month. If you haven't a Virgin line, the same will cost you £15 pm.

For £20 a month, o2 offer:
400 MINS, 1000 TEXTS and UNLIMITED o2 to o2 CALLS.

O2 have a great customer service team and good signal strength across the UK.

All their SIM-Only tariff details are available to view at http://shop.o2.co.uk/tariffs/sim_only

This isn't a SIM only deal but I recently subscribed to O2's Unlimited Texts for £15pcm tariff. You get a free phone with it so you could always take the SIM card out of that one and insert it into your current handset instead, then sell the other phone for a bit of extra cash in your pocket.

Basically though, as I aforementioned, with the deal I've got you get unlimited texts for £15 a month. With this you'll also get free voicemail and charged no more than £1 per day for browsing. Most of your calls will be charged at 20p per minute on top of your bill. It's a good deal if you're a bit of a textaholic like me although you may want to shop around a bit first, as I've seen similarily-priced deals from other networks which have made me think "Hmm...maybe I'd have been better off with that?". I have a habit of rushing into these things.

Still, I'd highly recommend this if interests you.

I think the o2 simplicity deals are very good. I was on a simplicity tariff for a month until they got me back into contract for 12 months.

I think that when you pay £20+ a month you can change the free bolt-on that they give you for one you might prefer.

Customer Service from o2 is also excellent.

It's even better than that - it's 500 mins and unlimited texts for £20 with T-Mobile, I have one.
Just as a note, when i had the bill in for that account, it said i had used 1217 texts out of 3,333,650!
Not quite unlimited, but a near as makes no difference unlimited!

Tesco seem to have a £10 pay monthly SIM that is value for money. Can be as short as 1 month or as long as you want. Tesco Mobile or T-mobile or unlocked phone unless someone knows different!

Getting great value from mine anyhow.

That's an easy answer: Giffgaff.

You can get 400 minutes, unlimited text AND unlimited internet for £15 p/m - no contract whatsoever.

For £20, they'll give you 600 minutes.

So much for your research.

Actually, it can be even better than that, if you go for the 12 month contract:

900 minutes, 500 texts, plus a free booster. Now, that booster could be "Unlimited" texts, if 500 is not enough (I think the "Fair Use" policy means 3000, not sure), or it could be free landline calls, free Tmobile calls, or unlimited internet browsing
if your 500 texts is enough. This last is particularl useful if you want to run a Smartphone and have constant email etc.
(Yes, I do work for T-Mobile)
