Alex is sly AND vile.

I cannot stand the boy.

Alex is a wet, slimy snake but apart from that I really rate him.

I think he was hilarious last night; bitching whilst wearing a blue hair net. He didn't look at all desirable. Yes, he's a real snake and I don't trust him at all.

Alex = sly, "pretty " (if you like that kind of thing) boy (defintely not a man), gameplayer, backstabber, in need of a good haircut and a sharp gust of wind under the ridiculous collar of his overcoat to blow him far far away from my sight

I actually quite fancy him, especially in his superman PJ's.

I still dislike him.

He's constantly whinging.

Like so many of the girls this year, I suspect Alex might have some ability but he's so arrogant, sly and charmless that I wouldn't want to work anywhere near him. He belongs with Claire and the two Jennys (can't make up my mind about Helene).

I don't know Alex personally, but I do know he's very, very good at what he does.

People have been saying he was whining in last nights show, but i think he had valid points, like what he said about the 'production' team doing an excellent job making the ice cream all day, and then the 'sales' team led by claire only managing to get 2 appointments, failed to get a proper tasting session, and generally seemed to waste time. And i can understand why he was annoyed by the whole saga with the Clapton cinema house, as they thought they had a good deal, with the man sounding very interested, only to be let down. It wasn't just him who showed annoyance. Other than that, he didn't seem to complain too much.
And this is coming from someone how thought he acted like a compete t**t the week before. I feel in this task he did his job making the product, and did a good job with his half of the team selling.

I'll echo that - and to discover the Sales crew were downing cider whilst the production team were waiting for vital ingredients must have strained the latter's patience to breaking point.

Exactly. They were relying on them to get the ingredients, as without them they couldn't make anything. From the looks of it they were being very casual about the whole thing, tasting cider, when i'm sure the quality of cider was the kast of their worries. I think this half of the team let down the other half.

And also, is it just me, or is Michael inept?
Everything he does just seems like a joke.

Alex just has a whiney voice and a whiney expression and a whiney manner about him regardless of what task he's doing! He'd do my head in.

I've yet to see anything from Michael that suggests he's Apprentice material, unless there is room in Sir Alan's organisation for someone who sings out of tune and tries to explain why 3 slices of a pizza is the equivalent of a whole one

he does have valid points but as he always expresses them with that petulant look on his face it comes across as whiny

I started out liking Alex but he appears to moan, sulk & generally find fault on camera while never speaking up nor challenging those he has a problem with
None of this is helped by the fact that he also appears to have had a sense of humour bypass ....

Simon did say in his interview with The Mirror that Alex should get over sulking-not in his exact words of course.

But I feel it may be part of the Alex charm/personality to be that way. Some women in particular may be drawn to that-not me I'll take the worse looking man with wit/humour.

Not me. He's my favourite and one of the few I like.

The only ones I would term as vile are Raef, Michael and Jennifer M.

I could just sit there and watch him sulk for as long he wants to

Actually that comment is rich coming from Simon who almost blubbed when Claire pointed out the truth to him about himself and as soon as he realised he'd bitten off more that he could chew. Sad little man.

Hardly.

He's one of the few, if not the only one, who tells people what he thinks of them when confronted or in the Boardroom. The complete antithesis of Helene who denied what she had actually said about Jennifer because Jennifer was present.

Michael has treated every task so far with contempt and he often treats the others the same way. The only time he has shown any support for the PM has been when he has been assigned swanning around with them (ie Claire and vomit inducing Raef)

As long as he has valid points, who cares how he expresses them?

Is he being rude or offensive in the way he expresses his opinions? No.

To be honest, some of the comments I have read regarding Alex's voice and accent (and the sound of someone's voice is in large part down to their accent) would not be tolerated if he was foreign.

You see fit to deride Alex, Claire and Jenny and you can't make your mind up about Helene?

Please don't tell me it's because Soldier Boy Without A Clue said she was nice.

I couldn't agree more except for him acting like a t**t last week. From the moment Mr Incompetent was made PM it was obvious that team was going to lose. Simon has the business acumen of a blade of grass. Why on earth would anyone want to accept being second in command to him? The complaints he made to Simon during the day (to his face, may I add?) were justified and valid, as were Claire's, yet Simon's reaction was to reprimand him. Why? Because he knew he was out of his depth, not just in the task but in the series, and he didn't know where to turn so he tried to blame others on camera. His team lost, he was fired ............. one of the most deserved firings in the history of the series and the most deserved in this series so far.

To me his problem is that he appears to be operating to a gameplan that he isn't good enough to carry out: he's too obvious about it. For example trying to avoid being Simon's number two so his neck wouldn't be on the line.

When Jenny realised Claire might be in trouble, there was a slight widening of her eyes that we probably wouldn't have noticed if the production team hadn't pointed it out on BBC2. However several seconds later when Alex cottoned on, it was like someone had put a crankshaft in the back of his head; you could almost hear the gears start to grind.

Jenny picked her moment to plunge the knife in, whereas he just started straight away. No subtlety to him. And of course a very good example of why the female of the species is more deadly that the male.

don't like alex.

one reason is the way he keeps screwing his mouth up and his unkempt hair.

Though i think Simon was out of his depth, and right to be fired for that task, alex and Claire treated him with no respect at all, and them being unmanageable as simon put it contributed to the loss of the task i feel. Alex clearly wasn't happy about Simon being team leader, questioning for the first time on the series i think, why someone deserved to be PM. Perhaps it was because he didn't have faith in him, and saw them losing. But, once Simon was made PM, he showed no support, trying to wind him up (though i think claire was the biggest culprit), when instead he should have been trying his hardest to make sure they didn't lose, by working hard and paying Simon respect, like Sara at least managed to do. If he thought they would still fail, at least doing what he was told would have put him at less risk of getting fired than defying the PM. What was he achieving by behaving that way.
What really made me disappointed in Alex was what happened in the boardroom though. The way he switched the blame to Claire was very sly, and unnecessary, as i think he was the least likely to get fired, and didn't need to 'save his own skin'. I know you need to fight to stay in, and i do think Claire wasn't truly conveying what was happening with Simon and the sales side of the team, but Alex made a bad move there.

But as i said, i think he did much better this week, and i believe there is a difference with pointing out problems, as he did this task, all of which were true, compared to just ignoring and undermining the PM, as he did last task.

A nasty, scheming piece of work, whose entire strategy is based around undermining others, rather than selling himself. Clare does the same thing, but she's not nearly as sharp.

Trouble is, I suspect he's genuinely very intelligent and could therefore have the wherewithal to get away with it.

I fear he'll win.

No, nothing to do with "soldier boy", I thought it all by myself. So far I think Helene seems pretty fair generally, but seems to panic and lash out when put under pressure - so probably not good "apprentice" material.
