Uhhhgh!
I just asked my mum to look at the Jessie YouTube clip from Saturday and she wrote back...

"Just had a look at Jessie. It's difficult for me to judge as I know the song very well and of course
Judy Garland that sang it. Her voice was powerful, Judy Garland's that is, and it's unfair of me to compare.

I thought Jessie had a very weak voice, and couldn't hold a few of the notes. Having said that , she is attractive
and has a pleasant enough voice, and sang it quite well..."

Opinions ehh?

I'm sure you could have posted these comments elsewhere; this is, after all, an appreciation thread - not good etiquette to damn with faint praise.

Sorry - I didn't mean to come across as judgemental - but I probably did.

edit- i do understand it, but don't like being accused of it when it is truly not what I mean. you know you are

I apologised to tc too

Am now clad in sackcloth and ashes - lying prostrate on the floor in abject apology.
Please be merciful and go easy on the flagellation

allright
/me gives you savlon or some sort of topical healing cream

i didn't know you apologized yesterday or whenever it was, sorry...but it wasn't necessary, i know how it may have easily been misconstued. i don't think i have said anything really mean or in jest about the girls, because i do appreciate the process. having said that, some of my comments may come across worse than they are meant, so i need to watch that.

All I can say is that I think she is a fantastic singer, and I'd pay money to listen to her.

Good Luck Jessie.

I know you're one of the underdogs being an amateur, but hope you do well again tonight.

Jessie does seem to get the best outfits imho... but it was the best performance of the night. Not 100% convinced she can act, but we shall see.
I agreed with DVO about it being the best performance of the series so far (somewhere in these hundreds of threads ) and to me it showed she can act too......she acted the words and sentiment of the song perfectly.

As far as I can see, the only potential problem she has is her spoken accent and surely in the months to come, they will have expert coaches to sort that out if it is a problem?

Hey...I thought I'd come and show some love to Jessie

She should be Nancy she's got a great voice..Her acting is fine she just has to work on the accent, but TBH I dont think its that vital.

I did support Keshia but I've always liked Jessie so shes got my votes

How are you guys?

Voting for Jessie tonight. I thought she did well for the song she was given. Hopefully she's not in the bottom two.

Felt sorry for her tonight, was a terrible song choice for her and I think she did the best she could, don't agree with JB or DVO had no problem with understanding her lyrics

Well I didn't like the song, didn't really showcase her talent but she did make a good effort with it
Judges knocked her down after building her up last week (to quote my Dh)

Why did they give her such a ridiculous song to sing?
