Hi all! I've just (almost by accident) caught Jessie on Miriam O'Callaghan. Sadly, I had no means of recording, but I thought I'd give you a quick summary to keep you going until someone else gets it up on youtube.
Miriam has actually less charisma than Pat Kenny. I didn't think it was actually possible.
Firstly, Jessie looked fab. I'm not sure i would have chosen the dress myself (white with a flower print, bit oversized, pulled together with a belt) but she carried it off.
There was a lot of 'oh you were robbed' from Miriam. Miriam was very complimentary about her voice. There was a lot of discussion about how disadvantaged she was because her fellow country men couldn't vote for her. But Jessie rightly said that she was very proud of herself for getting as far as she did entirely on her own merit, i.e not because she was from a certain place.
They talked a bit about her audition, how she'd just been turned down from drama school and was dealing with rejection for the first time. Jessie said she was surrounded by professional actresses in the audition queue and contemplated walking away

. She talked about how brilliant it was to be put through to the final 12 at Andrew's house.
There was a lot of talk about the Nancys living it up in London and all the fun celebrity stuff they got yp to. Jessie said that the sex and the city premier was the best (after Liza) and that George Clooney was very easy on the eye. Miriam said that he was old enough to be her father and Jessie said that was true.
They focused on her mum alot (or Mom, as Irish kids say

) who was in the audience and was quite teary eyed throughout. She just looked so proud and overwhelmed. She made me a bit teary myself.
I was hoping for some concrete news about Jessie's future, and I didn't really get it. However, she did reveal that she was moving to London, because she felt that's where she needed to be. She said that she wasn't going to leap into anything, off the back of a reality tv show, but wait for the perfect vehicle to suit her talents. She said that she might consider doing a year or two of training to 'put the icing on the cake' but this was a bit vague. She said that she felt Andrew and Cameron were behind her and would do what they could for her career.
Finally, she sang Killing Me Softly, which was great. it was really nice to hear her sing the whole thing.
Oh, and just one other thing that was cute. She showed off a new pair of shoes that she'd just bought today. The heels were enormous

. She said she was chuffed because the assistant in the shop gave her a discount because he recognised her from the show. She was totally charmed by that. I'm actually kicking myself, because I'm guessing she got those shoes on Grafton St (though that wasn't specified) and I spend most of yesterday afternoon kicking around there. It did cross my mind that she could have been around. Imagine if I'd bumped into her.
Okay, apologies for not being able to tape it, but hope that give you a nice taster.
