I'm torn I don't know which I'd rather see her in now though - but if It was with Gwion it would have to be oliver - or how about 2 shows a week in oliver and then when cabaret hits the WE at the end of a successful tour she takes over that for 4 as well as 2 in oliver

for me its got to be nancy, after cameron told is she is nancy, and she has said she was born to play it, it just seems unfinished buisiness. however i have a feeling she will pick cabaret, which i have a bad feeling about, think its too soon, but i'm sure she knows what she's doing lol

Don't worry mickeymouse I think Jessie will come to a decision with the aid of the most important people in her life and that is her family.

Her parents seem very sensible and grounded and I'm sure they would rather their daughter begin her professional career performing a role that she is more than capable of pulling off which is that of Nancy.

Sally Bowles is far more of a challenge for Jessie at this moment in time, although give her a few years and she'll be excellent. I don't think her parents would want her exposed to a potential mauling by the critics which is more likely to happen with Cabaret.

I think Jessie would be silly not to take an offer on Nancy, afterall that is what she had spent about 3 months fighting for and she would be too good to not do it. She knows she would be successful in it in terms of getting ticket sales,as she obviously has a lot of fans who kept her in the competition and probably will gain a lot more after ALW and CM's gushing praise of her. All her hard work during the show was aimed at being Nancy and I think she needs to get the 'raw, rough and ready' side out of her before moving on to something different. Nancy would be the best way to kick start her career I think!
So, yeah Jessie if you read this, PLEASE PLAY NANCY! (mostly just because I want to see you play it! ) haha

right now I'm really shocked after the revelations in the papers about how Jodie and her fiances relationship was a fake to help her in the show and how Mr.Spielberg who said he worked for the BBC was actually her fiance Steve, apparently!!!

So according to you, a lot of people have/had a problem with Lewis playing Joseph. Did they? Where did you hear that? Only on forums has it been a problem. So that's a minority. As for offering refunds, how has that got anything to do with Lewis? Refunds were most likely offered because Lee was ill and would the producers tried to offer a Joseph folks would know and if they didn't want Lewis they could have a refund. The refund wasn't offered because Lewis was perfoming and they wanted the understudy. What a stupid argument. I suspect most folks out there couldn't give a damn about these understudies you say the public would prefer to see. Get real.

As for Jessie understudying Nancy. Like that's going to happen. No way will Cameron M cast Jessie from the start. Jodie is the lead Nancy. It wouldn't do to have Jodie and Jessie competing for reviews. Maybe holiday cover eventually but never at the start.

He won't put Jessie before his show. If both girls play Nancy at the same time and Jessie gets better reviews then his lead Nancy will be seen to be inferior. This will mean bad press for the show. Unless he hires a hit-man and gets rid of Jodie, he won't do it.

that is a good point, this may be a silly question but do critics write reviews on the alternate/understudy then? also does anyone know what are the conditions of the contract, is there any reasons they give to be able to cancel the contract of the winner?

another thing, it makes you wonder whether cam and ALW knew jodie was winning on the votes and made it clear they were having jessie understudy, i remember that mr spielberg (who may be steve) once said he liked the idea of jodie winning and jessie having a couple of shows along side her lol i may be reading into things too much lol

Isn't an understudy very different to an alternate? Are people confusing the two things here? I it is possible they would get a review, but it wouldn't necessarily be the main first ones that come out, as the previews are likely to be done by the main nancy (Jodie). Personally I think that Jessie should ahve a part of her own in Cabaret - she is more than capable of doing it - her "can't dance" was very hyped up and we definately saw some dancing and acting from her in Truly scrumptious, and she has a lot more recent acting ( albiet school and Amdram ) expereice than Jodie. I want Jessie to have a part of her won that she can make her own. She does not need controversy following her around. Also the touring Cabaret will take her all wround the country meeting more people, not everyone can make it down to London to see people, and so get a bit lost in the West End....people who don't go, don't know the person is working ..how many times have you heard actors saying that becuase they weren't on telly people assumed they weren't working, when in fact they had been working their backsides off in theatre? My only worry about touring is that you have to have a lot of stamina - it is not easy living in a suitcase and going to different venues every few days and that is where, I think, her inexperience will get her...Ken knows what he is casting and clearly thinks she has what it takes.

No, she did not admit it. It's her boyfriend that has said this, and the last one said the same thing.
That she used him, to gain fame.
Once you can believe, but twice....... It doesn't bother me but I ain't no fan of hers anyway.

The main Nancy (i.e Jodie) will play the part for the previews and opening night, which will be reviewed. I can't imagine anyone reviewing Jessie separately if she were to play the part for two performances a week. As far as I'm aware mickeymouse, the winners contract is for six performances a week from opening until May. After that, it's up to Cameron.

I've had a quick look on the net and it seems she has used 2 boyfriends for publicity. It's not nice but it seems she out-manipulated the manipulators and won. Also I suppose she's not the first and and won't be the last to use her partner to publicise/help her showbiz career.

Using people is just plain wrong.
But then I didn't think that Jodie deserved to win anyway.
That was just me. A lot of people like her vioce, and acting ability, she is talented, no matter what.
I don't care about Jodie's boyfriend. Only idiotic people would vote because of this story line, or what ever it was.

But I kinda liked seeing Jessie's sisters and baby Lily saying is Jessie coming, at her party. That was soo sweet.

I don't like to see people being picked on. So I stuck up for Jodie because she was beleaguered by taunts of being too old and too fat, which I thought was unnecessary.

As for IDA, I didn't have a particluar fave. IDA wasn't a good as the previous shows especially ADWD. So I just enjoyed watching the machinations of ALW & CM and criticising them and the judges!!!!

I have just had a "Jessie fest" and listened to her Killing me softly, the man that got away, Stop and the first time I saw your face. That is not without her Truly Scrum song and ALAHNM .How on earth anyone could say she could not act is beyond me...I cannot recall anyone else on that show who was able to put such emotion and intepretation into a song, just by the movement in her face, eyes and phrasing. This must be the bit ALW and CM meant you could not teach it - it comes naturally to her. In fact the last time I saw similar interpretation was Lee Mead. She is able to inject that special something into a song which goes beyond singing in a good voice which was all the other Nancies could do - but they could not put the nuances and feel for the song in their delivery in the same way. Personally I hope she does not pay second fiddle to Jodie as alternate, however much I wanted her to be Nancy - she deserves a show of her own in her own right. Just got to hope that John's comments have not left her with credibility problems that are difficult to shake off.

I agree with everything you have just said. I also thought that Sarah, did very well in acting the songs. Especialy Midnight train to Georgia.
But remember Jessie has years ahead of her. She could play Nancy and then get a show in her own right in a couple of years. It's probably better to get as much experience as possible.
