Her video diary is the most honest and genuine out of all of them so far, I think. She seems so lovely.

I love Jessies hair and her accent

Unfortunately i know the big thing regarding an Irish Nancy and there would have been Irish immigrants in london in the mid 19th century, but the reality is that Nancy would still have been a cockney.

But i still love Jessie !!!

You can be a Cockney and Irish. I wrote on another thread about this where I explained that my great great grandfather was a Cockney - and his parents were also Cockneys and born in East London - but they were Irish immigrants and all spoke with broad Irish accents.

I guess in the same way David Beckham considers his youngest kids English even though they were born in Spain and have never lived in England.

It's natural for an English born person of Irish parents to consider themselves Irish.

I agree, If someone is english born but of irish ancestory then they can consider themselves irish but they arent technically irish immigrants themselves. In brooklyn beckhams case is he an american immigrant?

I'm sorry you're confused, I'll try to explain what I meant a bit better as my previous post was a bit clumsy.

My family (on one side) are descended from Irish immigrants who came here in the late Eighteenth/early Nineteenth Century. The children/grandchildren of the original immigrants were born in the East End and so were 'Cockney'. Despite this they retained their Irish accents for at least two generations. Therefore they were 'Cockneys' who spoke with Irish accents. Despite where they were born they still considered themselves Irish because of the strong cultural links they had to Ireland - despite the fact that they were technically Cockneys.

I hope that this has made things a bit clearer.

It has yes thanks. I understand most from what you have explained how there can be a say 'emotional link' to youre familys history rather than the matter of fact of your birthplace. Regarding the beckhams kids im sure they consider themselves english.

Think they were very harsh on Jessie tonight and I don't think she deserved that, For me she was great tonight loved it. Keep voting while you have the chance fans.

I thought her singing tonight was excellent although ALW seemed to disagree.

Her shoulders seemed a bit tense but that probably had something to do with the hideous dress...

I agree with ALW that she might not have chosen the best song but I thought she delivered it pretty well. I actually thought Niamh did the best job at selling her song this week and although I still have some reservations about her voice I thought she stood out, and yet she got slaughtered even more than Jessie did.

DVO and JB are increasingly defying credibilty. Jodie seemed to sleepwalk her way through her vocal which I put down to her trying to concentrate on her movement as well, and yet her movement was embarrassing. Yet is was Jessie's vocal criticised as vanilla and her movement called not very feminine. Rachel was weak and her croaking 'luv' followed by a posh 'yoo-oo-oo' was quite funny but escaped censure. Sam was all over the place and the worst of the night (yet again) but was praised to the skies.

Sam should be in the sing-off, and I think probably Rachel should join her, though Jodie should have no complaints. However I fear that if the judges comments sway voters there is a danger of it being Niamh and Jessie.

As something of a postscript, I have to say I rather liked Jessie with her hair straighter, as could be seen in the video clips of the week.
