Admit it - Simons a bit of knob
Laughing Ball

He is only nice in comparison to the other bunch of arseholes.
Admit it, he's a bit of a pratt and not funny, and the way he puts himself to such an extent becomes irritating rather than charming.

Yeah, I actually found him really gobby and irritating on the main show last night. He's full of s**t. I was glad Claire didn't go last night. She has more to give.

I found him to be a bit of a prat yesterday but normally he was alright.

He was extremely gracious on a radio interview this morning, he admitted he was out of his depth, and when he lost the challenge, he just wanted to be shown the door! I would love to have Simon as my second in command, he'd get things done, but he's not a good leader. Full marks to him for recognising the fact, I like him a lot better than the arch-bitches Jenny and Claire. Makes you realise just how good Ruth Badger was!

Ah, the Badger. She was robbed.

Yeah being a lazy cow and undermining anyone who is her manager, she's hopeless and not long for the chop

yeah, i actually iked his humility and really admired how he didn't have a bad word to say about anyone on YF, but comparing yourself to David Brent like the DS headline says, that's going too goddamn far. If you put yourself down like that you make people feel like an idiot for admiring you.

I agree, he got carried away last night and I thought he was a bit of a control freak actually. Shame coz he was brilliant the weeks before, he was my tip to win it. I don't think he kept an objective view of the task in hand and that's so important in business.

Is it me getting old, or is this bunch the nastiest of the whole series?

Its a shame he lets himself down by constantly putting himself down - its bad psychology, not only will he believe it but so will everyone else and the sad thing is if he'd had more self confidence he perhaps might have gone a lot further.

it was a shame he went,he talked himself into getting fired really.and siralan fired him "with regret"at least.
i think his"bull in a china shop"PM style was due to nerves.he seemed a nice enough guy on "your fired".very touching when he hugged alex and told him to go on and win it.seems simon doesnt find alex as vile as some posters on here then!

No I don't think he was a 'bit of a knob' at all really.
Seemed like a nice, decent person in general - not just by comparison.

Very respectful of others and humble too, though perhaps a little too humble at times. Don't see how that makes him a knob though.

I really liked him, seems like a good guy to me.
I wouldn't be surprised if he gets plenty of job offers after this, I doubt if he'll go back to installing satellite dishes anyway.

Simon seemed to think sheer enthusiasm was a substitute for all other leadership skills. He didn't seem to have that much of an analytical brain or the ability to build a team. I think half the problem was that no one respected his abilities at the start and throughout the task were intent on advertising his supposed shortcomings because they were convinced he was likely to fail.

Not necessarily - its better for the ego to lose to the eventual winner than to lose to the next guy to get the chop.

I think it's quite sad the way Society seems to have changed so that we now judge Nice people as Knobs just because they are decent and don't put people down at every givenopportunity , I fear reality Tv has made us a much nastier nation

But he was a bit of a bumbler who liked to advertise a strong doctrine of management, and yet when he was the manager he was weak but blustering.

He was a bit of a knob not because he was nice but because he was a bit inept and seemed to equate being in control with the amount of noise one made, which is rather childish and naive.

he has an IQ of 170 you know!!! ... just letting us all know that made in a knob in my opinion! In fact I texted my sister "Simon's a bit of a knob this week" ... I did honestly!!

didn't like him at all last night - a total wuss - just how many times did he look close to tears? knob!

(nice chest though!!!)

He did come across as a bit of a big head at the beginning of last night's show, but even when he was being arrogant I found him quite amiable. He wasn't like most of the others who give a straight-faced, sombre declaration of their own brilliance or ruthlessness to the camera.

So no, I don't think he was "a bit of a knob". I think he was sincere and enthusiastic. His ideas may not have been groundbreaking but how is any idea supposed to take off if all of the people who are assigned to help you with it are too busy being smug and undermining about every decision you make.

Yes, Simon did look very good when compared to the rest of these odious snakes, but even out of that context (on "You're Fired!") he came across as a lovely man who was willing to admit his faults rather than blame and bitch and proclaim his "unrealised" brilliance like a lot of other candidates do.

Enthusiastic and hard-working - more of what we need on this show. Fewer blame-shifting bullies and double-crossers next time, Sralan.

I'm not sure in any other context he would be seen as particularly nice, its only within the confines of the Aprentice, compared to those other egomaniacs that he seems nice.
He has shades of Alan Patridge about him.

A bit of self deprecation is fine but on "Your Fired" I felt like slapping him and telling him to get a grip!

Simon was an absolute diamond. Not the Apprentice - and he knew it.

But a good sport and extremely humble and good natured in defeat, even telling the snide backstabbing Alex 'you can win it'

There are very few people around today that can honestly admit their shortcomings. Simon earnt my respect big time.

Simon was generous, honest and WILLING TO LEARN from his mistakes...which is surely the perfect recipe for an "apprentice"????

Your opinion and of course you are entitled to it...I disagree, because I felt Simon was decent, down to earth and honest. I didn't find his self-deprecation to be annoying at all - the audience didn't, Terry Neill didn't and Adrian didn't.

I think he was well and truly shafted by Alex & Claire - they worked very hard with their attempts to undermine him and make him lose his rag. I didn't see Simon being aggressive - he tried his best to be assertive...they were just hell-bent on ensuring he wasn't seen in a good light
