Dinner tonight.
I usually cook the dinner, but I'm getting fed up with my repertoire and so is the missus.
I'll be off to Tesco's for the shopping after work and want to make something simple & quick, but different. We don't eat fish or coconut. Any suggestions/recipes? Chilli Con Carne Curries Steak Pies Soups Spag Bog etc are all sickeningly regular. No ready meal stuff please, inspire me. |

There's a lovely Food and Drink sub-forum with all manner of threads on dinner and what to cook for it, you should find some sound advice there.

Well there goes my suggestion of fish fingers Caribbean style.
![]() Tis a sad affliction. While I love the idea of a tax free haven, marooned on a desert island and living off the land.......with only fish and coconuts around, I would have to starve. |

Picante Chicken
4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves 1 16 oz. jar picante sauce 3 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tbsp. prepared mustard Hot cooked rice, optional Place chicken in a greased shallow baking dish. In a small bowl, combine the picante sauce, brown sugar and mustard; pour over chicken. Bake, uncovered, at 400 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until chicken juices run clear. Serve over rice if desired. It took me ages to type that out

Salsa I think.
Got peppers in it. Missus won't eat em. Well, she won't when she knows what they are. Might manage to sneak that one under the radar.

I'm not a veggie but me and my OH have meatless meals a couple of times a week. Tonight its Caudron Moussaka ( I know its a ready meal but I'm doing it with salad and garlic and cheese bread) I also really like Tesco Mexican Bean burgers with chips, or in a bun with salad. Ratatouille is nice too - or some kind of French Bean cassolet. Maccaroni cheese, or Cauliflower cheese. Or an omelette. You can do a substantial Spanish style one with potato, sweetcorn, onions, mushroom ham and cheese. I'm hungry now.
