I'm a bit mad as well, Because Kristy is a much better singer than Brooke and also JASON. I can not believe this guy Is still there.

I knew what happened, but it was funny listening to the audience completely flabbergasted about where Cook was standing, plus, sadly the look on Brooke and Kirsty's faces when he got moved, they knew straightaway

It's a shame for Kirsty, I didn't particularly like her, but she really had upped her game in the last few weeks, whilst Brooke seems to be completely lacking in confidence now - at the moment I think Carly is possibly the only one of the girls with a chance of making the last three, but I seriously can't see her knocking out any of the boys, the Davids and Jason have very, very strong fan bases.

It was so sad seeing Kristy go =\ Especiallly the song its like a goodbye song She was amazing, and I loved how she beat Simon, saying she would only getto the top 10, NO WAY

I'm not going to call it a fix because that's the cliche thing to do when a contestant one loves is eliminated, and anyway I had seen IT coming - although I was getting my hopes up given Kristy's improvement and Carly/Syesha/Brooke's deterioration.

However I found out accidentally last night and still ended up crying about it when it happened. I'm going to miss Kristy so much! I love David Cook too but it's been David-and-Kristy for a long time now so there'll be an empty space from now on and apart from Archie I'm not too keen on any of the others. Jason's upping his game but when he's bad he's terrible!

Not getting how Carly, Syesha or Brooke survived this week (although I guess two of them had to, shame they all did!) and Carly wasn't even in the bottom three! Well, they were all in mine.

I'm very upset and angry that Kristy's out and I'll have to watch four shows which don't feature her - at least the final will. The only good thing was that DC didn't join her in the bottom three as I thought he had - that would've completely freaked me out!

Ramblings about him being single are fine anyway AK.....we all do it!

As for Kristy's horse, I hope she'll be back with Kristy soon. The new owner must have known there was a good chance Kristy would want her back. If Kristy can't have her horse back then she should have her place in the show back instead, that would be even better!

Carly's been terrible for weeks! I didn't think Jason was so bad but I would have been much happier to see him go.

And I thought I'd heard about Kristy's engagement weeks ago! But congratulations Kristy and fiance!

Apparently she was going to be singing "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" next week. It's a popular suggestion for Carly, she might swap whatever she's got for it but I wouldn't approve unless she changed her lyrics to "Don't Vote For Me America" - that would make me laugh! I don't see how she's come so far. She has a voice but she doesn't know how to use it and I'm also starting to find her quite arrogant and unpleasant. Her comments to Ryan were a bit uncalled for especially when you considre the flak Kristy's taken, and I didn't like how no one on earth existed other than her and Michael Johns in their hilarious little world, same with Syesha and Ramiele last week, the screeching soul sisters! I did like Syesha, but that started to put me off, how could either one of her and Carly fail to connect with the others? Aslo, her (Syesha's) performiances are sending me to sleep!)

By the way, I should really add that I've noticed how hypocritical my post sounds thinking back to some of my cross posts when kristy and DC have been criticised. I wasn't exactly kind to a few contestants there - oarticularly Carly and Syesha, so sorry all fans!

Carly and Syesha are without a doubt technically superior singers, especially Syesha, but Kristy has her fan base and is likeable. I prefer Brooke, but in fairness, this week, Brooke was not as good as Kristy.Kristy has improved and seems to try harder, too, and I don't think this week that she deserved to go. Unfortunately, she had served her purpose for the producers.
In a way, this is good for Kristy in that it may be better to leave after a strong performance rather than possibly a weaker one. She will be remembered in a better light in general for having improved and gone out with a good performance. She was on the show long enough to show that she does have the potential to be a marketable and successful artist.Well done to her.

I was sorry to see Kristy go. She was improving and I much prefer her voice to some of the other girls

Although Kristy had improved and was hanging on in there, there's no way I can imagine her selling many records. The tone of her voice is quite harsh even when she manages to hit the right notes.

I think Syesha is a much better singer, but also has problems with a slight harshness to her tone when she hits the big notes.

Brooke has a limited range but her biggest problem is lack of connection to the lyrics which you need if you haven't got a huge range. Actually you need it if you have the big notes too, but even more if you are low key like Brooke.

I think Carly was lucky to escape the bottom three too. She struggles on the big notes. I thought the beginning of the song was better than the crescendo part as she just doesn't have the power to really deliver the money notes.

Jason is the one I'm more likely to buy a CD of after the show, he makes a nice change from the big belting rock singers like David Cook and Michael Johns.

but it seemed pointless that they wasted so much time during the show (2 guest appearances, a ford advert thing, chatting to the judges) then they cut the evicted contestant off mid-song!

Syesha might be technically better in some ways- I'm not sure because I can't pay enough attention to her performances. I don't think Carly has much technical ability, she can't stay in control throughout a song like Kristy can, even if at times her voice is more powerful. I preferred Kristy's peformance to Mariah's because Mariah sounded nasal/whiney and shouty to me.

As has already been said Brooke struggles to connect with most of her songs' lyrics, can also be nasal and at times out of tune. i like that she plays the piano but no one would vote for a non-singing pianist in a singing competition, so why vote for a poor-singing pianist?

Won't argue about DC, he needs to make the final anyway and is equally as good as Kristy and better in some ways. I don't find Archie as entertaining to watch but he does have a great voice and Kristy would never have been able to edge him out so third place I could easily have accepted for her. Jason's improving and stands out amongst this crowd but since Ramiele left he's been the weakerst singer in the competition in my opinio - even though I like Carly and to a lesser extent Syesha less.

It wasn't Kristy's time to leave. Every week was a good week for her as I saw it and now it's only DC that keeps me keen to watch. She will do well but I'll miss her while the show's still running, and I totally agree that her last performance shouldn't have been cut short. That didn't happen to any if the other eliminated contestants (although let's hope it does over the next few weeks as long as DC isn't one of them!)

The show won't be the same without Kristy, at least at the final ashe'll be able to show all the other girls up if they do the droup medleys as they wdid last year (guys and girls separately.) Would rather hear the two Cooks together but as he'll be a finalist that probably won't happen until the tour when it better had! (I'll be watching on Youtube)

First of all I have to say I respect your opinoin. However, music is subjective and musical sensibilities varies. Obviously on technicalities I cannot argue much.

Your taste is not Syesha. That's fine. But there are millions out there like Singy Thingy and myself who see and hear what we like about her. And I can tell you she is very marketable. She is not a belter by any means,she is more contempory-An Alisha Keys type. When its time for Syesha to go her fans will stop voting. But as I have said many times her fans are 'Resiliant, Strong and Silent'.

You love Kristy I can see that. But who says its not anybody's time to go? Its everybody time to go when it does come. And it was hers. Lets start with the good points about her. She improved as the weeks went on-she is likeable. I was not a fan. I felt that Kady or Aliana were much better. But again that's subjective. And yes the show will be the same without Kristy- she did nothing for some of us. Everybody likes what they like. I wish her the best.

As for Carly, never been a complete fan. When she did the Country week song I wondered if she should perhaps take that root. If she does I would buy her CD.

As for the rest of the gang its anybody's game. I think what America and the Judges may want is a David C. V Carly final. But what they may get is David C and Perhaps Jason/David A final. Nothing is written in stone what will happen. But I continue to watch every week.

Babeth - that's really interesting about Syesha, and I think you nailed it, part of Syesha's problem is she's being pigeonholed into a 'belter' Jordan Sparks/Leona Lewis catagory, which she isn't.

I think a crucial factor as people get knocked out is who the eliminated person's fans turn their vote to - I know a lot of MJ voters switched to Cook, it's likely Carly voters would switch the same way and a fair percentage of Jason voters - you said that the Syesha fans wouldn't vote at all, is that a concious decision, although I can understand as there's no other 'natural' person for them to switch to. If Cook went, apart from mass hysterics, Cook's voters, still watching and not locked up in a straighjacket (and I would be one of them if I could vote ) would probably go between Carly and Jason from what I've seen.

I think I slightly mislead you with that statement. What I meant was as we come into the ALW week a lot of fans will be voting for their favourites. As Syesha's fans are mainly RnB and African American voters they may not be enough votes to compete with the more popular contestants. So Syesha's voters and fan base may be overpowered by the stronger fan bases. For example it may be that Brooke/Carly might inherit Kristy's votes. That puts them in a very strong position. But no they would not stop voting but may not be able to compete.

Kristy was getting better, I thought Brooke, Jason, and David A should've gone before her. This was probably my favourite performance of hers, at least she got to go out on a high in that sense.

It was actually Carly I really felt should have left rather than Syesha although I wouldn't have cared too much if it hadn't been a Cook. I'm a David fan too and if I'd lived in America I'd have voted for them both repeatedly up until now when I'd just be voting for DC. If he left then I'd either stop watching - yawn! - or if I didn't, maybe vote for David A. I could probably vote for Jason, at a push but never one of the other girls. I did like Kady and Alaina - they were to me better than maybe Brooke and Ramiele, and Alex was better than Syesha (more presence - same with Jordin Sparks who Syesha won't be pigeonholed with.) I'm a huge Jordin fan and it's not especially Syesha's voice I don't like apart from the odd few warbles or bad song choice, just that I don't see a shining star in her.

We do all have our opinions but I think too many people pigeonhole Kristy as the worst singer because that's the role the show seemed to want her to play with the VFTW backing etc. It's the top 7 of the biggest talent show in the world, of course everyone will have something about them which makes them marketable, it's bound to be about taste but that's why we have the forum to discuss our opinions and taste.

Brooke to go next-unless she pulls it of the bag in ALW week

On a personal level, I prefer Brooke to Kristy.
On a reasonably objective, technically listening level, based upon what is agreed generally to be 'good singing', Kristy is 'better' than Brooke...on that same level, Syesha is the best technically and Carly would be second best of the girls. Carly and Kristy actually lose control of their vocals about equally.
I didn't mean that last post as an insult to either Kristy or Jason, I was just having fun with the way everyone keeps saying Jason is always out of it, etc .
I didn't think Kristy deserved to leave based on this week alone, but that is how the producers decided to go. She did improve, and will probably improve more with practice and as she learns how to make the most of her voice and style.

Anyway, good luck to Kristy.She has potential without a doubt. I hope she makes the most of the oportunities being on Idol will bring her, and that those oportunities will be great ones

On a personal level I'd say

DC and Kristy - DC is more original really but my own mum just mistook one of Kristy's recordings for me so she must eb good!

Chikezie - Agreed, he was very good and should've stayed a lot longer, had a nice character too.

David A - Samey at times but he does have a great voice and one has to take his age into account - lol he is the same age as me and I like to think there's hope that we can improve!

The next few are actually always changing IMO! At the moment I'd put Jason next because he's upping his game but he has seen a few weeks worse than most/any of the people below him, he does dare to be different though which is cool.

Then Syesha - there have been weeks (Yesterday mainyl) that I've really enjoyed her vocals, but I have trouble conncting with her. Hope she picks some more interesting songs soon though!

Then at this moment I'd actually put Michael next - he was starting to improve by the time he was eliminated, I wasn't impressed untk the last couple of weeks (funny really considering most reviews of his last performance) but I was starting to see his potential.

Then I'd say Carly. i like he the least personally but she is a better singer than Brooke and Ramiele. She could probably be great if she could sustain the quality of her lower range when she sang higher notes.I'm not sure I can think of one performance where she hasn't made that same mistake but I hope she''ll prove me wrong too.

Brooke - Better pianist than singer, if she works on her voice and her interpretation of lyrics she could be quite interesting. She's getting a bit samey now too.

Ramiele - Was never finalist material! Was weak, needed tons of backing vocals but was also shouty at times.

I actually can't think of how I'd alter that list to make another one. I think I ended up combining the two in the end. Interesting to think about it though!

I'm not really liking anyone except Jason and, maybe, Brooke right now. Everyone else I find kind of dull or just shouty (I know most people like him, but I just think David Cook sounds like he's in pain).

I still don't think Danny should have gone. He had a great voice and was so entertaining. He did pick the wrong songs though.

probably the weakest guy left now but the girls love his hippy free spirit persona.i quite like him but david cook would just blow him off the stage in a sing off.
think i prefer castro though to carlys shouting and syeshas technically perfect but soulless performances.
