Blu-Ray disc question.

Having seen a few of the new Blu-Ray discs in the shops I noticed that on the packaging it states that the output is 1080p or "full-HD".

Ok, my new Sony LCD HD-Ready tv - like 99% of all the other HD-Ready tv's only does 1080i.

Does this mean that these discs would not display if played on a Blu-Ray machine and connected to my tv? Or do they mean it does upto 1080p (which would therefore include 1080i etc).

It means the video stored on the disc is 1080p. Any blu-ray player will support conversion to other resolutions.
