I notice that Argos' site now say for the Hitachi HDR161 that "This product may be substituted with model HDR162 which is of a similar specification but cosmetically different". Similarly for the HDR081.

Is this a recent change, or have I just never noticed it before?

I wonder if anyone has bought one recently and notice any 'cosmetic differences', like Series Record for example?

I havn't noticed that before either and even though it's at the bottom I feel sure I would have seen it at some time if it's not a recent change particularly when they changed the Model Number and description from HDR162 to HDR161. If they are now getting recent production units I would have expected them to be the LP CI Slot T825 units.

I instead think they are more likely to turn out to be plain T825 units (i.e. no CI slot, no USB and no low power mode).

Oh yes! I forgot they are still making those for the Digihome brand.

Perhaps Hitachi decided to hold back on the release of a series record machine until the software had been improved. I wonder if that time is now? Can't find an announcement on their website though.
