The pathetic pretence that it's all happening now...
Pretty Polly
20-04-2008
We all know that the series is filmed months in advance then the 2 finalists work for SAS before the final task.

So why this year are the fired candidates being interviewed the day after the show goes out and saying things like 'when so and so gets out we'll be firm friends' and being asked who they would like to win, as if it had all really happened the night before and the rest of the competitors are still in the Big Brother - I mean Apprentice - house?

It's really irritating me !

(I know - I should get out more ...)

They've probably been briefed to do so.
I don't know though, the BBC will be being very careful not to 'mislead'.

If they were to end up having a message at the start of the show like the Osbournes repeats now do, saying 'Some scenes are fabricated for the purposes of entertainment', I think all credibility would go out the window.

The bizarre thing is I think some people actually think it IS going on now!

I would say the majority.

When is it actually filmed then?

Also,
how long do the candidates actually spend in the Apprentice house?
how long is there between tasks? because it seems pretty pointless doing it all up nicely like that if they're only in there 3 weeks or so!

It is filmed around august/september

A lot of people probably also think the boardroom is in Canary Wharf (as implied by the panoramic shots every week as the boardroom action starts). They would fall off their chair if the realised SASs actual offices were 15 miles away by Brentwood rail station.

No - more like October and November (hence it being pitch black each morning when Frances rings up at 6.30am and they all start wearing heavier coats as the show progresses)

I don't mind the fact that it is filmed this way and am under no illusions. The interview with the fired candidate is filmed when it is because, although they were there, they haven't seen the edit of the programme, and need to be able to discuss that ( as what the viewers get to see of the task, and even the boardroom, is of course, quite selective!). And they are seeing the direct-to-camera comments for the first time.

But it has always struck me as stupid to ask the fired candidates who they want to win when they clearly know who the final two are!

I think the actual 'board room' we see is a tv studio and not his Brentwood offices.

I like the way it is warm and sunny during the tasks but the fired one comes out of the office with a top coat buttoned all the way up to protect them from the chilly weather.
Also I find it amazing that they are often only given 30 mins notice of a task but all manage to get up shower eat breakfast and be perfectly groomed in that 30 mins??????

Is he still in Brentwood then?
I was wondering where this new HQ was.

I dunno though, while in the last series you could be forgiven for thinking he was based in Canary Wharf, they do show quite a wide shot of Sralan's new HQ in the taxi scenes. In previous series they've just shown a very small part, including the door - no wonder really, if you've ever seen the Amstrad offices!

You never know though... some people are easily led.

6.50 - dress
6.55 - cereal
7.00 - out

You must be joking!

Have you seen the ridiculous barnets on most of the guys?

They look like a hedge has been dragged backwards through them!

Maybe they have a toilet block the size of that in Old Trafford at the house?

I happen to know that it was filmed in 1966, but they did it in black and white, and they are painstakingly adding in the colours now using a combination of CGI and crayola crayons.

(PS to the person who jumped on the Lindi thread, ranting about race for no apparent reason (apart from inner demons?)... the reference to black and white isnt anything to do with race!)
