There must be about 8 hours of unseen footage from each task discarded each week. I would love if they would show at least an hour of this footage on the lesser channels like BBC2,3 or 4. I bet they would have the biggest audience ever, and we could have a much fairer assessment of the candidates.

I'd definitely be interested. Last week's episode was shameless in its editing - anyone new to the apprentice could be forgiven for thinking there was only about four people in each team - some people were just completely cut out of the showing on BBC1. Maybe they just got on with the job and didn't cause any fuss or bother!!!

They've spend hours editing the candidates into stereotypes and trying to get a big audience hatred against some more than others. Last think they want on that show is for people to be able to make their own minds up! If you look at the different series over the years, theres been less and less footage of the candidates doing the tasks! |

Hmmm...
Where do you get the figure of eight hours from? If you think about how long some of these tasks are (two, three days) and how many cameras they must have to follow four teams (the two teams divide into sub-teams at points), you are looking at tens if not over a hundred hours of footage per task.

Excellent thread.
I've always wanted to see how they interacted with each other in the house as I'm sure it does influence their team behaviour. In this series in particular I would love to see why the other girls seem to dislike Lucinda so much it can't just because she's useless with technology! In Friday's programme it was interesting to hear Michelle say that the Ruth had a reputation for winning within the group, which wasn't clear in the programme.Mind you in saying that it would probably become more like BB, but maybe they could make it a spin off programme before the final. Last year's insight in to the finalists was very revealing and gave us a better idea of what motivated them as individuals. |

.. Yet we are expected to decide who is best and who is worst among the candidates with so much filming denied to us.
Our role is to be entertained ![]() If this was a phone in type competition then we would really have to see a lot more. |

Personally, I'm getting pretty sick of The Apprentice, as it's screamingly obvious that big chunks are cut out of the story for the sake of time and the general narrative of the show.
Personally, I'd like to see a 60 minutes show JUST of the task, then the boardroom having a separate 30 minute show the following night. Squeezing it all into an hour means we quite clearly don't get a decent idea of what actually happened. |

I think there is definitely room for more of the footage to be shown, and really like the idea of a 60 min task show followed by a results type thing the next night. They do it SCD & IDA so why not this.
Also, imagine the fun we could have with a whole day of speculating on which team is going to win and who is going to get the push! Although there is always the chance that much of the footage is actually just quite dull:yawn: |
