Help With Samsung Le37r8 Set Up
JEFF62
21-04-2008
I have just bought a Samsung LE37R8. I went through the plug and play set up and selected Home mode. Now i am all set up there are a few features on the set up menu that are disabled and i dont understand why or how to activate them.

The channel menu which allows you to store channels is disabled. You cant even select it.

The plug and play option is not showing anymore. (I know i should not need it but what if i wanted to reset and start again)

there is a feature called picture in picture. howeveron the menu I cannot select this option.

Also what is Anynet+?

Any ideas how to activate these features?

I'm not familiar with this particular TV but it is common for some features to be context sensitive so if you were watching via say RGB SCART then channel store options may be greyed out.

to access the tuning menu (in digital) press tv/dtv until digital comes on, then select d. menu - NOT the normal menu.

your model doesn't have p in p, but uses the remote for one that does.

anynet + allows you to connect other samsung hdmi products and control them from the one remote (so you could store them out of sight and still control them, without the use for extra remote controls).

if you need some help, pm me your phone number and i'll talk you through.

PIP on a samsung is disabled unless you have an alternative source connected to it like a sky box/dvd player etc on an AV channel.

Yours may not have pip tho.

You won't get the store channels menu without an ariel plugged in.

Thanks for your replies. I think I have it sorted now. One other thing. the sound quality is a bit tinny on programmes like Eastenders. I do have a home cinema system so i use that mainly but on programmes like EE tend to use the tv sound. It seems to have no bass. What are the best settings?

The sound on many Samsung's is absolutely dredful - the speakers face downwards and the sound is deflected to the front through a tiny plastic 'tunnel'. Two thirds of the speaker is even completely blanked off by a plastic plate.

You've got surround sound, use that!.
