home system recommendation

Hi

Hope someone can point me in the right direction for a new system in my flat.

I currently have Sky + connected to a cheap 32" HD TFT.

No stereo so currently just listen to MTV etc through the telly. Rubbish sound!!

Can get the cables through wall to ceiling nice and easy.

I'm looking for something which will play CD's, Radio, DVD and Sky through. Surround sound would be nice, something nice and bassy.

Budget around £500

Cheers

The Sony HT-DDW890 is very good and well worth the money but its only £220.

You have £500 so should be able to get something thats much better.

Have a look at makes like Denon , Onkyo , Pioneer and Yamaha all in ones.

you will get best value going to Richer Sounds and getting a separate receiver and speaker package, and the playback device of your choice, from a £30 DVD player to a PS3.

That sony system looks good but a bit bulky, do you know of any slimmer untis, possibly with a tuner / CD / DVD player built in?

Will I be able to listen to music channels on sky through all of the speakers?

You can on the Sony one which has a link on because it can do multi stereo so it comes from all 6 speakers.

But on my older Kenwood AMP you cannot and have to use 2 channel stereo for music.

I'm tempted to go for the Sony, Do they do a version without the old fashioned looking speakers?

Or shall i get out the spray paint!

The speakers do look a bit old but there very very good for sound.
You will be very happy with the Sony.

You can spend the extra money you have on a DVD player or something else.
