Can't find one! One of the biggest teams in the UK on the verge of something big. Will be smashing the top 4 next season. Rafa, Grant, Fergie and Wenger beware !!

4-0, 6-0, 5-1!

I agree I expected a top eight finish for Villa this year however they are on the verge of clinching 5th spot from a tired Everton side.

Villa will invest heavily this summer, I know other teams will but this hasn't been said about Villa for quite some time.

Will they break into the top four next year, well that will be hard however I expect them to make a decent challenge.

They have some really good young players at villa and they could maybe get into the top four next season.

Why not ask the mods to rename this the Official Villa supporters thread.

Its odd, we haven't really got big threads for teams like Man City, Chelsea, not even seen a Pompey thread.

Funny side Villa, had a wobbly spell but have since come thundering along like a steam train. Should make an exciting finish

Yay, a Villa thread.

It's a massive game on Sunday v Everton. Whoever wins that one will probably get that 5th place in the Prem and qualify for Europe.

This season is most definitely the best football we've been playing since the mid 90's IMO and its good to see we seem to be heading in the right direction at last, after our last few managerial changes before O'Neill have just sent us backwards for years. The defence should definitely be the first priority to strengthen in the summer as we haven't kept all that many clean sheets and as everyone knows he have a tiny squad that doesn't have sufficient cover in certain areas. It's also amazing to think with the amount of goals we've scored(only Man U have more)that Carew is our top scorer with 12!

won't happen, they've got a defeat to West Ham coming up. Nigel Reo Coker will end up in tears. Marlon will get a decent reception though.......

I nearly had 1000 heart attacks today. Everton were marginally the better side I think, but what a fight back from the mighty Villa. Realistically I don't think Villa are ready for Europe yet, but they are on their way, making progress and I'm chuffed with that.

We need to hang on to Barry though.

I like Villa and you have a quality manager. Barry would be a complete idiot to leave that to be a bit part player at liverpool.

It's nice of Benitez to bid and unsettle Barry right before our 2 biggest games of the season, just because his own Liverpool teams season is now over.

Typical Villa losing when it matters - some things never change ! Oh well! I think Barry will go..lets hope Scott Carson goes back with him

All the best Mellberg. A true pro.

Very pleased to be honest...6th place with 60 points and 71 goals(only 1 fewer than when we last won the title!). I would have definitely taken that at the start of the season and we are more than capable of getting into the UEFA cup via the intertoto so fingers crossed european footy will be back at villa park next season.

Inter toto should be a breeze so we're pretty much in UEFA cup. All-in-all a decent season for us.

Need some more signings in the summer though for sure.
