I do feel Lambert is a good Championship tops manager but he isn't the standard for the Premier League similar to Alex McLeish really

This is what happens when billions of money is handed to him on a plate by his daddy. He's like a spoilt rich kid who decides to buy an expensive play thing and gets bored of the toy later on. He really has no idea the value of money.

He's worse than Doug. Much, much worse. At least with Doug he cared about us, made us financially sound and had some success under him. Lerner is just the complete opposite.

Based on what ?

Hes had 1 full season in the PL and obviously done a great job keeping Norwich up comfortably.

I presume he took the Villa job because they are a bigger club , hes ambitious and he gets a better wage but hes really been thrown to the lions by the chairman , thats what it looks like on the outside looking in , i agree with the poster above saying that Mourinho would struggle keeping them up.

On the positive side , what is in Villas favour is that Reading and QPR look relegation certainties , Newcastle are in complete freefall and dont look like stopping anytime soon and Wigan are surely overdue to go back where they belong , dont think Saints , Fulham , Sunderland , Norwich will go down.

It will be close , obviously games like today need to be won but there is still hope no matter how bleak it looks right now.

It's certainly not over, but these are realistic predictions for next week which would near enough make the Newcastle home match a must win as it would open a 3 pt gap with 17th position, which is more like 4 pts with the inferior GD.

Newcastle 2-1 Reading
Wigan 1-0 Sunderland
West Brom 2-0 Villa

I saw an interview with Lambert about signings,,,,,,the bloke sounds depressing in his interviews.....he must be pulling his hair out.....no siignificant signings will happen as Lerner is putting no money in.

I'm getting fed up now with Lerner,,,why doesn't Lerner tell us what is going on and what his plans are.
Sadly i don't think we will get anything against the baggies,,,,if we do it will be a pleasent surprise but papering over the cracks Lerner has made

I've backed him so far, but Lambert HAS to take the blame for that second half collapse. Bringing off the brilliant N'Zogbia was insanity. Bannan should never play for Villa again, he is ****ing woeful and what Lambert sees in him is a mystery. Shoddy substitutions.

To go from two up to a draw is poor but probably more than I expected.

Ironically that's exactly what happened to Newcastle as well. Two poor managers?

N'Zogbia was absolutely fantastic today, I just couldn't believe it when he took him off for Holman. I'm just not sure what to think. At least we're out the bottom 3. I'm ashamed to say I knew we'd throw it away so had a cheeky 50p bet on 2-2 at half time...

You would think that. No wins in 6 league games.

He's looking to be the worst manager we've had. He has no excuse either. He was one of the highest spenders in the summer window and got brilliant support from us.

He's failed miserably to the point where he's even worse than McLeish. That takes some doing.

We have our own Coyle.

No way Bradford will hold out, Villa should cruise home from here.

I have to hold my hands up and hand it to Benteke. I rated him higher than most but didn't think he'd come on so quickly and despite playing in such a poor side but if he keeps this up it will be tough for Villa to keep him beyond the summer. Spurs should be beating Lerner's door down I reckon.

You should be 3 or 4 up by now but there are some shocking players in that team- Barry Bannan must be one of the worst players to ever be at a premier league club.

Is this a joke.........Is Lerner trying to be like Jeremy Beadle and he's having a big joke at our expense..............this is what happens Lerner when you strip the club of assets and do not re-invest

LERNER OUT

The one thing we actually had to look forward to this season was a possible cup final. Now it looks like we won't even get that.

Well done Bradford.

All credit to Bradford. I expected them to crumble with all the pressure they were under in the first half, but they have fought back well.

He should scrap the whole team bar Benteke they all seem so poor.

The fans need to stop paying to watch this team- terrible.

Will Lambert go after this?

Why did Lerner stop spending? Is he being like Mike Ashley (saying that they look like spending £20m this window at least) and trying to make the club live within its means or has he become bored?
