Villa played excellently in the first half, but seemed to run out of steam in the second. Burned themselves out.

To be honest any manager would struggle with this squad and no investment,,,,,,however lambert has crumbled with the pressure on him.
I don't know who we could bring in as manager to turn this mess around McLeish kept us up last season with a squad that had 20m less investment. He also would have defeated Bradford over 2 legs. I know Lerner is ultimately to blame but I don't give a shit. No new manager should remain at their job with the shambles we've had to endure under Lambert this season. |

I feel sorry for Aston Villa fans tonight because the team was an absolute disgrace in the second half. Lambert completely lost the plot and just threw players on willy-nilly without the remotest hint of a plan and a way to break Bradford down. It reminds me of the fraud that was Nigel Worthington in charge of Northern Ireland. You deserve much better - you can accept not being very good but when the manager is just throwing things up in the air it is unacceptable.

The question is would any manager currently available do any better with the players available. The squad is in major trouble and investment is obviously needed. I'm not so sure Lerner will release much money after that performance.

A change is required. Who would come though? Maybe Nigel Adkins with a point to prove? I dunno he could be another Coyle as well.
We're just in a mess and are going down I'm afraid. |

It would make things a bit more interesting if he does sack Lambert. Things have gone horribly wrong...perhaps a new man coming in now would be a kick up the backside

Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it...wise words, seem to be so true with all my fellow fans who wanted Lambert. He like most of the players are not experienced enough for a club of Villa's size. This is going to be one big rebuilding job, whether we go down or not.
...however if Villa do go down with Lambert still at the helm...I say keep him as he's got experience of getting teams promoted. |

Can't see Lambert getting sacked but investment is needed asap. I'm not a Villa fan but it would be travisty to see a big club like Villa getting relegated.

Agree. As a Bradford City fan, Villa killed us first half. We were lucky to be one down but when Hanson scored, psychologically Villa gave up. There is some confidence and team dynamic issues going on there. Don't know if that's the manager (suspect it is) or higher up?

Don't think Villa fans can complain to much over the 2 legs Bradford probably deserved to win.
