Villa played excellently in the first half, but seemed to run out of steam in the second. Burned themselves out.
That is what will worry the Villa fans...what did Lambert say at half time?

Clearly didn't work and infact they played a lot worse.

I see he hasn't been sacked then. Alrighty then. More embarassing defeats on the horizon.

My guess is that after such a good first half, the players suddenly remembered that they are Aston Villa, so immediately began to decline in quality for the second half.

Looks like the club are accepting relegation. No one can be arsed anymore. Not even the fans if you think about it. Meh. Will treat football casually now. I'm done taking this seriously.

That's how football should always be treated.

PAUL LAMBERT is 8-13 to be the next Premier League manager to go and if his side fail to overcome Millwall in the fourth round of the FA Cup this evening, it could bring about an end of Lambert’s tenure.

Lambert is under huge pressure going into tonight’s FA Cup match. It’s 5-6 that the 43-year-old is gone by midnight Saturday.

Mind you, that's only The Sun's take.

Why wasn't Lerner at the Bradford semi?

I think he'll get until at least the Newcastle game next week. Lose that and his position should be untenable.

Lerner was probably avoiding the Bradford game as I imagine he'd have got a very bad reception due to his lack of spending. Be surprised if we see him at Villa Park any time soon.

Moved due to a protest march taking place tomorrow against the closure of Lewisham Hospital and Police are needed there as resources are tight (thats what Simon Brotherton said on 5 Live commentary anyway)

Christ...are Millwall's hospital protests violent too?

This is hilarious. Going out against two teams in lower divisions within three days.

Bannan is the worst player in Villa history.

If Lambert wasn't sacked in midweek after losing to Bradford, what makes you think he'll get the chop after tonight? But football is a crazy old game.

Club deserves better.

Owch. The problem for you guys is I don't think even getting rid of Lambert will solve your problems.

The team ain't good enough, some reinforcements are needed but they don't look like they are coming

To be fair, Villa fans were enthusing about him last season.

What's done for him is that his confidence and belief are shot, along with a few of his team mates.

Unlike the famous United team of kids (that Hansen comment made after a Villa win versus them, ironically!), Villa have no leaders. Experienced players, yes, but some have questionable attitude or are meek.

Given's the only one but he's hardly able to get in the other players heads during the game, sadly.

Unless you buy a veteran ball-breaking midfield marauder or inspirational central defender in the transfer window, I fear for you.

Borrow Jamie Carragher from us for four months - he'd make a difference on the field and off it.

The scary thing is this team wouldn't even be good enough for the Championship. They're mentally messed up.

Ah, but the likes of Ireland, N'Zogbia, Bent and Benteke will be sold and you'll surely use some of that money to buy players better suited to a fight (that's a criticism of the first two in that list, not necessarily the others).

And you've got the wrong BB for the Villa's worst ever player crown

Number of journalists on Twitter said Lambert refused to answer any of Mat Kendrick's questions...sounds like a man who is losing the plot.

I'll be surprised if he's still manager come February 1st. Half expecting he'll resign of his own accord.
