The Villa first team should consider showing as much effort and passion as the kids

Its so annoying,,,its the same old, same old. We go 1-0 up and are playing well, half-time comes and we go 2-1 down in the second half. What the hell does Lambert say to them, cus whatever it is its not bloody working

Somebody needs to find out about the half-time talks Lambert gives. Whatever he says seems to have a terrible effect.

Whether it's Premier League or Championship we're in next season, I do NOT want to see Barry Bannan even on the bench. Terrible player.

I think we have only four games now to save our season. Stoke,Fulham,Sunderland and Norwich are massive games for us. I don't think we will get anything from Man utd or Chelsea.

And Wigan have already proved they have the fight to keep them up, if we end up going into the last game needing a win to stay up away to Wigan then there's only one way were going. So we are potentially 7 games away from championship football. Must win game next weekend.

That seems rather harsh. He looks to be a real talent and just needs more experience.

Are you for real? Bannan is absolutely atrocious. I'm sick of his Hollywood attempted passes that end up with the opposition, he should stick to what he's good at running across fields after crashing his car pissed.

Shame the pitch was so poor.

Stoke should win 1-0 next week. A 1-1 draw at Stoke would be good for Villa as Sunderland are very unlikely to get anything at Chelsea and Wigan have a tough match at QPR.

We always struggle at stoke, hopefully Chelsea will do a better job for us this weekend than they did v Southampton on sat. I think Fulham and sunderland at home are must wins and Norwich away is crucial too. Definitely can't leave it to wigan away last game, we'd be down in that case.

So proud of the youngsters! We have a lot of talent and I'm looking forward to seeing them hopefuly develop into top stars for us in the future.

Agreed. Hoping for a point against Stoke...given their iffy form, anything less would be a bit of a disappointment.

Congratulations on the win. I was a bit confused as to why the competition got almost no recognition or reports in the national papers until the final game this weekend. You would have thought that an U-21's competition from most of the bigger clubs in Europe would have got at least a paragraph somewhere.
Incidentally three out of the four teams in the final-4 were British.

What a win today by Villa and a massive three points against Stoke that gives us a big chance of staying up!

Excellent win today, probably our best this season, when Stoke levelled I thought here we go again, dropping points from a winning position, but to have the mental strength to go on to win 3-1 is a brilliant performance.

This is the first time I'm thinking we might be able to stay up, if Chelsea and QPR can do us an extra favour, then I will believe it even more

How have we improved so much all of a sudden? I didn't think it was possible.

Stoke must be worried.

With Benteke and Weimann, you always had a chance, they're class players.

If Stoke go down, you'd have to say that they deserve it. The most uninspiring team I've seen, in the top division.

Have a soft spot for Villa so delighted for ye today and hope ye stay up.

I see what you're saying about teams doing ye favours but in all honesty this is really in ye're hands

Home match v Fulham next, that's as winnable as they come. What a massive, massive game.

Utd next which is probably a right off even if they have the league won.

But then Sunderland at home next. I really think ye can achive 39 points by then and that should guarantee safety. 2 massive home games coming up for ye. It really is in ye're hands now

Yep, I agree its in our own hands really, and we are not safe yet, but after todays performance it has shown that we might just have enough in the team to win the most important games against Fulham and Sunderland

Great win, for the majority of the match we were really good, then had the usual 10 minute wobble where the defenders start running into each other and forget to clear the ball but Lowton's goal, unbelievable!!

Thought Gabby was excellent today, when he plays like that he really is good, Bowery did alright although he should've scored, Benteke was poor, kept giving the ball away, his goal was excellent though. Also thought Westwood and Delph did well in the middle. Guzan was fantastic on crosses too.

Big game at home to Fulham next week too, another must win!

In all honesty, I don't think we'll even get a point

To be fair, Lambert seems to have found the same sort of spirit he created at Norwich. Just at the right time. I like him and would much rather see Wigan go down than Villa.
