A great night for Villa, more teams in the mix and a winnable game coming up against Norwich.
Even with their game in hand five points must look a lot to a Wigan fan hopefully it will be eight come Saturday evening. |

I remember us beating Everton at home 6 - 2, a long time ago
This was even better than that |

I still can't believe our transformation.
After the three heavy defeats against Chelsea, Tottenham and Wigan I thought our chance of survival was slim at best. When we basically decided to stick with the same team (apart buying Sylla) who at the time couldn't even beat lower division teams I thought that sealed our relegation fate. How did Lambert turn us around? It's really remarkable if you think about it. I know there's always been strong potenial from some of our young players (Benteke and Weimann especially) but they were still young and their confidence must have took a knock for sure around that horrible time. Interesting times ahead. |

This win couldn't of come at a better time for Aston Villa it was a brilliant performance by Aston Villa they totaly ripped Sunderland apart [although I'm not sure they were as bad as the scoreline suggests] Now 5pts clear and I think that will now secure their Premier League place for next season.

Lambert will certainly want to beat Norwich I feel.
Pleased Weimann is doing well for you - another Premier league loan we've had who has gone on to be a success at that level. |

A very belatedly well done in your huge win last night.
Do we know what is going on with Bent? As the extra "eke" has really over shone him this season. |

That match was ridiculous! I had a strange feeling in my tummy, not nerves, confusion, haha! It was brilliant. Lowton was outstanding and I thought Bennett was excellent too. Westwood does a great job in the middle, definitely a carrick type player.
Obviously getting the 3 points was fantastic but improving the goal difference was huge. Especially with Newcastle losing so heavily. who would've thought there would be an 11 goal swing this weekend! Amazing. Can definitely go on and beat Norwich now which would make us almost safe! Think 4 more points would do it! |

Well done on the win and hitting the 40-point mark.
Think Villa are safe for another season now. |

Didn't David Platt score 4 in that game?
) and Kent Nielson got the 6th.Ooh Aah Paul Mcgrath got an own goal. Brilliant win today,,,,the kids really are showing some mental strength now... at the start of the season we might have lost that, they seem to believe in themselves now. Damn Wigan just will not go away, they are like a cockroach
