To be fair we could still finish mid table this season depending on how the results go on the last day.
It would be good to finish with a win against Wigan. I doubt there will be much fight left in them.

Honestly, Villa have left it late for 3 seasons in a row. One year it's not going to go our way, we always need other teams to save us.

I hope for a very strong start to next season, getting to 40 points or very close mid season- hey we can all dream. But having some strong points mid season would be a real luxury for us.

Can I also say I do feel for wigan, they have played some great football an been very unlucky with injuries. Of course had they of been in a position to knock us down this Sunday I'm sure my emotions would have been very different.

2-2. Bit of a drab ending, but hey...we're safe.

Need to strengthen our defence in the summer. 22 games in a row without keeping a clean sheet is poor.

Need to keep our best players as well. I think fans will flip out if we sell someone like Benteke after one good season.

Finished 15th,,,,thats better than I predicted at Christmas,,, I thought we were down after some of our performances.

The turning point on our performances was Reading (away), when we went 1 down I thought oh no, but we came back to win, then beat QPR to win two on the bounce. The Stoke away game showed the kids new mental strength, we were leading for ages then Stoke equalised but they did really well to win it 3-1.

We have a good quality keeper, we just need more quality in defence, its been our downfall this season. The points lost from winning positions is the most frustrating thing about our season.
We need to see Lambert bring in some quality to help the kids improve and hopefully we won't be in the same position next year

I'm just wondering what signings we will make this summer as Lambert has said that there will be not be any big money signings so I guess we will be buying from the championship and League 1 again maybe with a few cheap foreign signings as well!

I'm not liking the noises Benteke is making,,,he's had a very good season, but the way he is giving interviews about leaving, he seems to think he is a superstar already.

If he carries on giving these silly interviews, its showing his heart isn't at Villa. I think he should shut his mouth, as his agent has had to go on Sky Sports News to smooth the waters.

Well it seems that these quotes have been taken out of context by Sky and the Sun but that is to be expected when players give interviews when away with their country!

To be honest I think it would be best for Benteke as a player to stay with us for another season or two then make the move to a big club if they want to pay big money for him!

Good to see us making our first signing of the summer in Tonev and hopefully he will be the first of many!

It's looking like Lambert is planning to get his transfer deals done early with Helenius and Okore rumored to be joining Tonev as Villa next summer signings!

Both Okore and Holland u21 midfielder Leandro Bacuna have signed! Helenius seems imminent too.

I admit I haven't heard of any of our new signings, but they all seem very talented, especially Okore...seems a bargain at around £4m.

Yeah I'm excited about Okore as apparently he turned down Chelsea in January as he wanted to play first team football which he knows he has a better chance of at Villa!

I'm still expecting more signings especially if we get rid of Given,Ireland and Bent!

It's looking like our squad will be even younger next season than it was this season!

This is so very unlike Villa. It's been great this month.

I know Villa have gone mad with signings with Helenius joining Villa today and Luna looks set to join us shorty!

I know we will have players leaving but I'm wondering how many signings Lambert will make this summer as he has already made four with a fifth one close!

Our first three games are terrible and I can't see us getting a point until September!

Apparently we are meant to play Chelsea on the 31st August but Chelsea play in the Supercup on the 30th August so our game will be postponed!

Yeah, pretty tough start. I'm hoping our team gels well enough this early to get a few unexpected points. On the plus side, we have a less difficult Christmas this year!

Yeah true it's nice to have an easier Christmas for a change but our last game of next season is against Spurs so I hope we are safe by then!

I would prefer it this way than the usual christmas time where we have to go against like 3 hard teams within a week.

So we have cancelled Holman contract and it looks like he is off to Dubai!

Rumours about Barry coming back to Villa which would be interesting and would add some needed experience to our midfield

I wouldn't want Barry back, there's only one ex-Villa midfielder at Man City that I'd want, and it's not him! I really like the direction Lambert's taking with the squad he's building though. In times where very few teams have proper spending power, this is the way to go if we're going to build something good enough to attempt to crack the European spots again.
