Whilst it's great Villa are getting some good results late in matches it's not doing my blood pressure much good.

How about a nice comfortable 3-0 next time Villa!

I think it's useless playing the long ball without Carew

I agree time to rest Gabby ?

If we have to play with Milner and Young wide why not put Marlon H in the middle and batter the opposition , lets try to change things around , we are very predictable in attack ATM

Deffinatley time to rest Gabby. Last few games he's been pretty poor.
Hopefully we'll be looking at some good centre forwards in the trasfer market. Someone that Gabby can play off.

I think Harewood didn't do too bad when he came on, didn't do much though. I don't think MON really likes him

Last season he was used as a sub , now he is on the bench and usually stays there or comes on far to late .

I think the fact that Delfouneso was played ahead of Harewood gives you some indication as to Harewood's future at the club.

Just when you think Villa are going to make it easy and cruise through a comfortable second half with a 2-0 lead, we go and concede one early doors and then have to hold out for the rest of the game. Thankfully we did - a few seasons ago, that would have been a draw.

Gabby was knackered after about 60 mins, Harewood should have definitely come on to freshen things up. I think that goal should go down as his, too. Good to see Carson replicating his form for us last year

Still not convinced about the make up of our midfield three, I like Barry but Petrov and Sidwell are hot and cold - you just don't know what you're going to get from them. I think the problem is Barry, Ash and Milner are the only three players who actually look composed on the ball. Too many of other players just play a long ball and get rid of it, not looking to pick a pass.

Can't complain too much though - a win's a win, it's three more points, and we're six points ahead of Arsenal.

All what matters to me is the final result. I don't care if we get accused of having luck or scrapping results, a win's a win.

Looking back at the results of the season is more memorable than how we played in each match so let's carry on this trend!

Another day, another win!

We just did enough today, like we have been doing recently. Bare in mind we had 21 shots at goal to WBA's 9! We were always in control, although it was nervous towards the end.

Ahead of Man u and one point behind Chelsea

Can I just say well done on a very big win.

Oh and I am slightly annoyed that goal hasn't been credited to Gabby as I have him in my fanstasy team!

Why can they not just give it to him, I am sure Carson will be more than happy to give him the goal!

only 3 now

I did not see the match , I was at a wedding , I caught a glimpse in the second half , it said WBA had 78% of possession in the 2nd half

Were we that bad or lucky ?

We were pretty good first half bar the first 10 or 15 mins and fairly comfortable in the 2nd. We deserved to win overall i thought, we had over twice as many shots on goal as West brom. The possesion doesn't really tell the whole story because alot of WBA's was in their own half and little in the final third where it matters most which is very often the case with them and as you know we are a direct team.

Albion did have most of the possession in the second half, 78% sounds like an exaggeration though. None of it was particularly threatening, though.

Ah I wasn't disputing you were wrong CMYorks Just seemed a bit much. The match stats I read said that we had 51% overall, but that also sounds wrong!

Another result , if only Chelsea and Man Utd were n't so lucky today

Looking at our run in it makes me more optimistic

C'mon Hull beat Arsenal this evening and Everton beat Liverpool

Looking forward to FF on Sky to see what A Y did

LOL.

Villa fans talking about "luck". Home goals galore, James Milner doing a Maradonna and a penalty for a foal outside the box today.

Villa deserve a lot of plaudits. Tricky away game, down to 10 men and a goal down at one point. You cant ask for more than leaving with 3 points in the end. These are the results that seperate the challengers from the also-rans.

apparently James Milner punching the ball in the net helped.....

you can't get any with luck like that forever but take it while it's there I 'spose.....

Exactly. It's very rare for any team outside the top 4 to come back and win from a goal down, especially away from home, and especially when they're down to 10 men.

You can't get where Villa are purely on luck. If we were 4th after 4/5 games then perhaps, but the league table is a pretty fair reflection of how good you are after 20 or so games, when everyone's palyed each other once.Yes, luck does, and we've had some go our way so far this season, but there are other, more important reasons why we're doing so well.

Disappointed that we're without Ash for a bit, but it might do him good for the rest of the season - we've been playing since July and he's hardly had a break, so it might actually help him.

I honestly think they should believe they have a decent chance.

I suppose we all live in hope of breaking into the top Four, but the amount of money the likes of Villa,Everton can generate are no where near on a par with them, the rich get richer and all that,we end up with the players that they don't want and when we buy big thats it our transfer funds are empty while theirs is an open check book
