The board have zero ambition. They will no doubt give Lambert a new contract just because he kept us up at the bare minimum. That's if it happens.
Season tickets next season will be interesting to say the least. Fans won't forget 10 home defeats this season and it's not even over yet! Whats worse is that we are still in the top 10 premier league highest paid wages, and yet our position in the league has no reflection on that at all. |

I agree, the moment Lerner realised how expensive it was to get us top 6, and that he would have to pay many more millions to get us into the top four, was the moment he pulled the plug on spending. Now its just about survival on the cheap, hoping he can sell the club.
Whats worse is that we are still in the top 10 premier league highest paid wages, and yet our position in the league has no reflection on that at all. I'm not gonna blame Lambert for everything this season. He was given around 10 million to build a squad. That's not enough for even a semi quality league player nowadays. We were also bad before he came here. I still want him sacked though because 10 home defeats is unacceptable at any club nevermind us. But at the same time do we want the board hunting for a new appointment knowing deep down they'll just **** it up again? It's a terrible time to be a Villa fan. In my lifetime I've never known it to be as bad as this. Even Doug's last years was never this bad. We are gonna get relegated within 3 years. Our luck is gonna run out soon when we are one of the three worst teams. Good job I don't really give much of a damn anymore! Most of my passion was lost when we hired McLeish. |

I've had enough now. I wanted things to work out but I've finally accepted that Lambert isn't the man for us anymore.
I said on Twitter earlier that the only way we can begin to recover from this mess now is by appointing a proper Villa man who can bring the passion back, understands what the club is all about and understands that this sort of tripe isn't acceptable. Gordon Cowans would be my choice. |

Another bad result, how long can this continue before Lerner realises that Lambert isnt good enough, will it have to result in relegation, because that is where we are heading under Lambert

Culverhouse and Karsa have been "suspended pending an internal investigation." Given and Cowans promoted in their place.
Two of Lambert's staff are goners...I suspect he'll follow them out the door at season's end. Good riddance to Culverhouse at least...from what I've heard, absolute tosser of a man. |

The whole club from Lerner, the board, Lambert and his coaching staff to (most of) the team are not fit for purpose. Apart from a very few exceptions, the dross that I have watched this season has hit new levels, culminating in history being made at the last game with, for the first time in our proud 140 year history, our 10th home league defeat of the season (after matching the record of 9 last season!).
The Villa fans have been amazingly patient and reasonable but the ill-feeling toward both Lerner and Lambert is growing. I would be amazed if Paul Lambert is our manager at the start of next season but does anybody have any faith that Lerner will make the right decision next time? He also needs to loosen the purse strings as eventually we will be relegated if we keep hovering around the bottom 6-8 every season. However I am very confident that Mr Lambert will be leaving Villa Park with a big smile after the game on Saturday. Sadly, I think it will be Ricky and not Paul, though! As for Culverhouse you only have to read the Villa forums to see how unpopular he is, thanks to his alleged abusive and confrontational attitude towards fans. |

Although it is never a good idea for Villans to get their hopes up too soon it is interesting to see the takeover rumours gathering speed. Whether they are true remains to be seen but it seems clear that Lerner wants out and (for the right price) Villa should be an attractive proposition. The names being linked (Micky Arison & Philip Anschutz or James Ellison) again may or may not be accurate but hopefully we may soon be able to look forward with a bit of much needed optimism after the last few years of mediocrity.

Ouch. No wins since the Chelsea game. Do you think you guys might get sucked into a final day relegation scrap? Swansea game looking awfully big now.

after all this weeks mess, and our dreadful home form, i'm considering this to be not a bad result
. You know its been a terrible season when a point at home seems good.

Knowing that Sid is having a major input at the minute gives me hope for the next 2 games. Lambert is unbeaten as a manager against Swansea too I think...

Interesting statement by Lerner about his future.I get the feeling that he could be selling up at the end of the season and I would be worried if I was Lambert!

If we don't get rid of Lambert at the end of this game, then there is a huge chance we will go down this season. Put Cowans in charge for the last 3 games imo.

Lambert should be gone by Monday morning.
Four years of pushing our luck, this is one push too far. We're going down.

There you have it. Lambert is worse than McLeish. Never thought I'd see the day so soon.

We need them to save us again next week...our final home game is against them.
Last two games...Man City away, Tottenham away. If we get even a goal in either of those games I'll be astonished. |

Sadly i don't see Lambert being sacked. I think Lerner thinks we will survive and that is good enough for him. I just hope i'm wrong and Lambert goes tonight or at the latest Monday morning
