Sadly i don't see Lambert being sacked. I think Lerner thinks we will survive and that is good enough for him. I just hope i'm wrong and Lambert goes tonight or at the latest Monday morning
Lambert should stay until the end of the season because he needs to face the heat if the reality happens. I don't want him coming out saying he could have kept us up and escaping with some money in his pocket. This way if he does bring us down his career will never recover. No one would trust him in top flight again after he was the one who brought down Villa at the Premier League. Back to the shadows he goes just like Coyle etc.

I also don't want this to be a burden on Sid. There's no way he'll get points in this short amount of time especially against the likes of City and Spurs. It's nothing on him but the rubbish Lambert has left him with. I don't think it's fair.

If he keeps us up? Great. Sack him. If he brings us down? Sack him and that's his spotlight career over. No matter what Lambert is screwed. Sacking him now is just pointless.

I know we're not safe yet, but I'm sure I'm not the only one sobbing in devastation at Bolton's failure to win?

Regardless, come on Villa!

Hull can't handle Weimann + Bowery. Who would have thought it.

Providing a massive goal swing and Norwich winning their last two, we are safe now.

Things need to change MASSIVELY this summer at every level. Four years of relegation fighting...no more.

Major changes needed this summer. This cannot happen again. It's gone on far too long now.

Looking forward to the takeover.

So happy we are staying up, its a pity we don't get a trophy for surviving .

I hope we get new owners who want to invest, and who want to get rid of Lambert, otherwise i fear we could be in a worse situation this time next year.

Our footballing Neighbours were bloody lucky today

I think I'm still in shock about yesterday result for Villa!

So glad we are safe now but I just hope we don't lose too badly in these last two games!

Great that we are staying up but what a terrible season yet again. Really hope all the takeover rumors are true and we spend some money this summer. We need to as the squad has not been good enough this year.

For me Lambert has got to go, it just does not seem to be working out for him. Wouldn't mind seeing Laudrup as the next manager, would get us playing good football I reckon and not hoofball. Whoever is in charge, we need to brig in some better players. The only players I would keep as first teamers: Guzan,Vlaar, Bertrand ( buy off Chelsea), Okore ( based on reputation, been injured all year) Delph and Benteke. The rest are hit and miss or not good enough

Well we held out for an hour but then City destroyed us!

I can't believe our game against Spurs is on Sky though

I just can't wait for this season to be over and to find out what Lerner plans are!

With so many players missing and our 18 costing about the same as just Kolarov this result was inevitable.
Can't wait to get Sunday out of the way so we can finally find out what Lerner is planning to do, and hopefully who the new owner (if there is to be one as seems likely) will be.
No matter who it is, I will be back for more punishment next season (health permitting) and I am expecting progress to get us into the top half of the table after the last 4 seasons of mediocrity.

We were that bad Sherwood put a fan in charge.

Awful season, Lambert needs to go and we need Lerner to either put his hand in his pocket and invest again, or sell it to someone who wants to invest, otherwise if Lambert is still manager at the start of next season and we have no investment, i'm putting money on us to definitely go down.

You got away with it the last 2 seasons but next season could be 3rd time lucky!

Lambert must go, he's equalled Mcleish's record of Villa's worst PL points tally with 38 which saw him handed his P45. We've gone back to the O'leary/Taylor/Mcleish years of playing awful football and barely surviving by the skin of our teeth.

I might be in a minority here but I think Keane would be fantastic for us. He's a winner, won't take any crap from overpaid underperformers and might even toughen us up a bit.

Cracking stuff.

First we sign Sendroes and now Joe Cole is having a medical at Villa. It does seem that we are shopping in the bargain bin!

It's a long time since Cole has been any good and at Arsenal we remember Senderos more for his comedy value than his football skills.
Nice guy though and super intelligent for a footballer.

I had £1.76 left of my WC 2014 free bets

I have placed in on Villa @ 1000/1 to take the EPL

I know I have no chance but it was only £1.76

Are you we moving from a team of the Young ones to Dads army ?

First game is against MUFC , so an easy start

EPL games have been leaked , see here

Its been confirmed on Sky Sports news that Roy Keane has been confirmed as Assistant Manager, LOL this could be interesting, I'm disappointed Lambert is still boss though.

No news on any new owners or investment.

To be honest i don't mind the signings of Joe Cole and Sanderos, if he uses Joe Cole in the right way he could be useful to us and Sanderos can't be any worse than Baker surely. I remember months and months ago Paul Merson talking on Soccer Saturday and he was saying he would like to see Joe Cole at the Villa, i wonder if he had a word with him.

Well the latest rumour is that Kieron Richardson is set to have a medical at Villa within 24 hours. Its seems like Villa transfer policy this summer is to not spend a transfer fee at all!

It's seems like Lambert is getting desporate if he is bringing Hutton back into the squad.Ive got a bad feeling that next season will be Villa last season in the Premiership!
