Now would be the ideal time to replace Lambert with no league game for eleven days. Will it happen probably not which means with Lambert in charge we will be relegated.

If as likely Villa do get relegated Lambert will say to Lerner, listen Randy love I have got a team promoted before I can do it again and Lerner will believe him.

I was hoping to turn Sky Sports news on and the Headlines say that Lambert had been sacked, i'm absolutely gutted it hasnt happened

Its a disgrace how this club is being run

I have become allergic to the sight of Lambert's face.

At least Ellis gave a damn and would have sacked Lambert in his first season.

Lerner's so disconnected with this club it's unreal. Did he even know we played last night?

He's sacked!!!!!!!

I can't believe it. This is a strange feeling. I really wanted it work out for Paul but it wasn't to be. Wow the board are acting up for a change.

Probably one of the more justifiable ones but the new guy will not have an easy job. They will stay up though.

I'm shocked! I can't believe he's actually gone!

I'm shocked that they have actually sacked him but not sure who should replace him now

Although whoever it is I expect Darren Bent to return to Villa

I guess Sherwood will end up being the favourite at the moment

Thankfully the plank has been given the boot it should have happened ages ago.

We now have a chance in our 13 cup finals ahead.

Or the guy with the knackered knees.

We have the players to at least keep us up. But it's gonna be hard work for the new guy to get their confidence back. 12 goals in 25 games is the stuff of nightmares.

The only surprise about Lambert going is it didnt happen sooner. I'm glad hes gone, without doubt his negative style of football and poor tactics have led to this situation. We dont have a championship squad but we have squad totally shot on confidence esp our strikers. He had to go

I wouldnt mind either Klinsmann or Laudrup as the next manager, not sure about Sherwood.

Lerner will properly try to bring a cheap option like Hoddle

He is a tightwad and doesn't know a damn thing about football and I believe no longer gives a hoot about Aston Villa however what he does know and care about is money. He will know down to the penny what relegation will cost him so therefore I think will cough up for a decent manager not to allow that to happen.

A tad contradiction? I have no confidence Lerner will even bring in a decent manager. He has a track record of bringing in managers who have caused us to be in relegation battles every season.

My post was more hope than common sense.

I guess anyone has to be better than Lambert but that was said after McLeish.

Let's hope Fox has a huge role in conducting the search and hopefully be a step up from Faulkner. Huge pressure on the board with the TV money being even bigger in the future.

Fox can't do worse than the appointments of McLeish and Lambert unless he gives Neil Warnock a call.
