Yeah it will be a lot of new players coming in this summer and I'm sure we will get a new striker once Benteke leaves!

Benteke apparently holding out for a CL club say The Mirror. In-keeping with the Man Utd link and his retweet from one of their fans.

Villa>Adebayor pursuit being widely reported, depressingly.

Where is the Adebayor link to Villa as I've not seen anything for a long while?

Don't forgot as well that Villa have got Kovak back from injury at last as well and he has yet to play under Sherwood

Will Benteke want to go to Liverpool if there is a slight chance of Man Utd ?

I think I would prefer Charlie Austin over the mercenary Adebayour

And hopefully Tim will give Carles Gil a chance this season and not show him the door

I don't know if anybody else uses this site but it links to anything Villa related. Like all speculation a lot will be rubbish but plenty of interest:

http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/Foo...ue/Aston+Villa

Adebayor for £3m and £40k a week (plus maybe some sort of bonus scheme to keep him interested for more than a few games) and Charlie Austin would be just about ok imo, although I would prefer Austin (the only proven PL goalscorer that comes to mind) plus a potential star such as Callum Wilson/Breel Embolo/Anthony Martial, or maybe James Wilson on loan if we cannot get any of the above. Whatever we do, I think we need 2 decent goalscorers as there will be very few goals in the squad post Benteke. The big worry for many seems to be Adebayor as the replacement for Benteke and that would be asking for trouble imo.

So Sky Sports News are saying that Villa have £12m bid accepted by Lorient for striker Jordan Ayew

It seems that we are doing a lot of shopping in the French league but let's see if anything comes from this story!

A happy and interested Adeybayor is a fantastic player.

Sadly, he appears to have peaked

So we have signed Ayew and Crespo now and it looks like Adebayor is next as he has been spotted at Villa training ground today!

Not sure how to feel about Adebayor though!

He'll be great first season for you then he'll be a total nightmare. He's very consistent.

Yeah that's the feeling that I've got at the moment which makes it worrying for me as a Villa fan

As he is meant to be on loan for his first year so then his contract with Spurs runs out.So if he has a good first season then we will offer him a contract next summer and then he will struggle!

Well Adebayor hasn't signed yet and it's rumoured that Jordan Veretout could be joining us from Nantes

At least we are doing some business, i was fearing we would sell and not do anything.

Its going to be an interesting season, i'm still a tad worried about relegation though, lets hope the new players settle reasonably quickly

I wouldn't really call this 'some' business as its a lot of business

However I agree with you about worrying about the new players settling into the team but it's going to be an interesting season as we need to take gambles like this otherwise we will be fighting relegation every season!

Not the most comfortable or deserving of wins, but I'll take it!

Looks like Adebayor doesn't want to join us. I've never liked or particularly rated the guy...too much of an ego. Not crying over that.

Good start for Villa and a decent start for Gestede at Villa!

Especially with Man Utd coming up next as well

Decent win, Bournemouth were tricky today plus it will take time for everyone to settle, good header by Rudy though

Another signing it seems-and another 12 million:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...la-switch.html

Villa will have to stage a meet and greet event for all their new players

A great signing in Amana Traore but a disappointing display against Man Utd with the usual expected result

Not all doom and gloom but a lot to work on. My positives were Amavi and Gueye whilst Richards and Clark looked pretty solid (although their aimless hoofs over the Man Ure central defenders for Ayew and Gabby in the first half were woeful). Man Ure were, as always, given too much respect by us and my biggest disappointment was that (although we should have had a pen) we did not test Romero at all. Man Ure were pretty average going forward with Rooney offering very little and Depay having a shocker. That makes it all the more frustrating that we did not look like scoring. Hopefully we will see another signing or two that can help in that respect and we will attack Sunderland and Tescos from the first whistle in the next two home games.

And certainly not a fan of Friday night football as the travel was a nightmare.

Decent effort from the players, just a lack of team cohesion in the final third against United, i think once the team settles we might be ok, we've made what look like some good signings.

It all rests on how good Sherwood is with the tactics now, we have got rid of a lot of players who were poor over the last few seasons, we have brought in a lot of players who havent been under the pessure over the last few seasons so they dont have that baggage, its just how Sherwood puts the team together, if he cant get it right we could easily struggle again imo

Well an expected loss against Palace as it seems Sherwood still has a lot to work on and apparently Sherwood said after the Palace game that he won't be signing anyone else!

Well just after a 5-3 win against Notts County in the Capital One Cup we then get drawn against Birmingham in the next round!
