"Big Fat Sam's Claret and Blue Army"
![]() ![]() I'm getting ready for our new song before christmas ![]() Seriously though, i would rather see Sam Allardyce take over , its got to that stage now where i'm sick of seeing Sherwood learning how to be a manager, getting us into more and more trouble, we cant afford to have a tactically naive manager learning on the job in charge anymore, we just do not have the time. When he took over last year he was just what the squad needed in terms of a fresh voice and a lift, but now he is showing just how naive he is.who knows he might be a good manager in 5 years time, but are we going to go down and spend years struggling hoping Sherwood comes good for us, i'm scared of taking that risk tbh. Allardyce gets a lot of criticism from supporters, but he has experience of keeping teams up, he has been there and done it and that is the type of person we need imo |

I'd be happy with Allardyce. He's experienced, has consistently delivered in the PL, gets results and is tactically aware...things we desperately need in a manager right now.

Our club is just a downright disgrace. I'd say we're even more toxic than Sunderland overall.

Another game goes by with Sherwood in charge and another loss. One win in nine this season and added to the two losses at the end of last season that's one win in eleven.
4 points from 33 available. It has been said that he has the game next week at home to Swansea to save his job he should be sacked now. |

If our board had any sense (ha!) he'll be gone in the next 24 hours. Get a new manager in to try and build momentum for the Swansea game and the nightmare run we have afterwards.
Hoping for Moyes. |

Chelsea didnt trouble us that much especially in the first half, but a shocking mistake by Guzan gifted Costa an easy goal, then a scrappy own goal meant we shot ourselves in the foot, at times we are our own worst enemy, i think Guzan needs to be dropped he has deteriorated badly.
We can go back to Lerner completely cutting off the spending which led to O'Neill leaving us in a mess, to find the start of our troubles. Awful appointments by Lerner and the board, Lerner making it clear he is not spending and also making it clear he wants to sell have added to make a club that is unsettled, and the reasons we are struggling now. The only way out of the mess is a new owner who wants to help the club, and a manager with experience who can stop the rot. |

The problem is that Lerner is the owner and like it or lump it that won't change until he wants it to.
The only thing supporters and more importantly results can change is the manager. I would like to see Sherwood and Villa win against Swansea next week and then string a few wins together but that isn't going to happen. Guzan is a liability and should never play another game for Villa he has given away so many points already this season yet Tim can't see it. Also what is the point of Wilkins he spent most of the game not watching Villa but arse licking Mourinho. |

We're down if we continue with Sherwood
He sends them out running around like headless chickens, no real tactics, no real formation, he hopes we can run the ball into the net , its just not good enough |

That should be it for our Jeremy Kyle lookalike manager however Lerner is an idiot so will probably offer him a five year contract extension.

I notice his back room staff have gone as well with Kevin McDonald taking temporary charge
Wht's the chances of him getting the gig full time ? |

Sky sources are saying Moyes is interested, and today could be his last game in charge of Sociedad .
Sherwood needed to go, he was woefully inept at tactics, yesterday was like watching school kids run around, he obviously thought he could manage the team hoping passion would get him through. Plus he was starting to blame others, i.e the players didnt have enough quality, they werent his players etc... My only worry is Lerner still being there, since he has been chairman/owner the club has degraded significantly, there is something happening at board level that is turning the club toxic. |

Glad to see Sherwood gone!
I hope for either Moyes or Rodgers but knowing Villa we will end up with Bob Bradley! |

If that's true then we are a club that wants to get itself relegated!

Looks like Remi Garde will be the next manager. Much more promising than Sherwood but I don't think he'll keep us up. The damage is already done.

It seems to be reported by French TV channels and by British journalists on Twitter that it's a done deal for Remi Garde
My previous post was an overreaction to the news but he still faces a tough challenge to keep Villa in the Premiership! |

Hopefully with Garde in place things will get better, well they have to.
Four points from eleven games, I think we should at least be aiming for 18 points from our next eleven. A tall order but Garde has to be better than the last mug or should I say last three mugs. |

we had a decent spell when we got the goal back, but then we are so disorganized at the back that we inevitably conceded a third.
I hope Garde can come in and organize us better otherwise we are down |

Shocking selection from MacDonald and apart from a 20 minute period in the 2nd half we were typically woeful, meaning Spurs didn't have to get out of 2nd gear. On the plus side I am hoping that at least half the starting eleven will not be featuring much in future.
Two more unwanted records after tonight...the worst start we have ever made to a league campaign....and Gabby's 8 touches in the first half were the least of any player from any club in any game this season (and 2 of those 8 touches were from kick offs!)...Neville, Carragher and Lampard rightly thought it was hilarious. Hopefully Remi Garde is a miracle worker, as he will need to be. |
