That probably summed up your season!

Very good support considering the circumstances.

Poor decision by the referee to send off Sissokho. He got the ball first and it was not an over-aggressive chalenge. It was actually an excellent tackle.

We didn't lose! Hooray!

Seems we've also dragged Newcastle down with us...how they must hate us.

I was happy with the 0-0 result yesterday but maybe that's how low expectations are for Villa now for me!

Good to see Toner starting though as we need more youngsters in the team

Does anyone know if Gary Gardner and Nathan Baker will be returning to Villa now that the Championship season has ended?

Well I'm not looking forward to today game as well will get hammered by Arsenal today!

Also finally the torture of this season will be over

Then we can find out what's happening with the club and manager hopefully sooner rather than later now especially as the rumours about this Chinese takeover seem to grow over the past few weeks!

Given both Baker and Gardner have played big parts for Bristol City and Forest respectively, they should be a key part of next season.

I want to be optimistic about this Chinese takeover but I can't help but be a tad sceptical...hopefully I'm proven wrong.

4-0. Going down with consistency at least. Now Eric Black and most of these lazy inept mercenaries can finally f**k off and never disgrace the claret and blue shirt again.

So Hollis is in China finalising a deal for a Chinese consortium to buy the club ,, the strange thing about it is they have already spoken to Roberto Di Matteo's people for him to become next manager,, where did that name come from , no experience of the championship and Struggled at the Baggies , they also mentioned him as being head coach, which usually means he is just a yes man to whoever wants to buy the players, it doesnt work imo, if you become manager then you should manage every aspect of the club which means bringing in your own players.

Whilst part of me is excited about a new chapter of the club if the deal happens, the other part of me is nervous about the direction we are heading.

As long as Lerner has absolutely no control or say over the club then it has to be an improvement surely.

Not sure where you're getting that from. Di Matteo was appointed at West Brom when they were relegated from the Premier League and got them back up at the first attempt finishing second behind Newcastle that year. They then made a terrific start in the top flight and it was only a dodgy period over Christmas/New Year that got him the sack, still considered harsh by most. You could do a lot worse than him.

Give me the Neanderthal, Pearson to get us back up

Or Neil Warnock is available as a cheaper option

i clean forgot about that, i was thinking he was only there for a short period in the prem, my mistake ,, If he can do the same with us then i wont be complaining. Its still come out of the blue considering the list of managers linked.

Never heard of the bloke but, as ever, actions speak louder than words. Hopefully, unlike Lerner, he can deliver what he promises. I am neither particularly excited nor downcast. I will give him a chance to prove himself and hopefully we can reverse the free fall that we have seen under Lerner.

Dr Tony Xia has to go through the fit and proper person test though doesn't he in the reports I've read so far but I assume that is a formality now then hopefully big changes!

Well the new manager could have up to £50 million to spend according to the BBC website but Sky Sports News have a interview with Tony Xia saying its between £30 million and £40 million

Di Matteo is the name constantly linked at the moment so I'm sure we will hear soon about that!

Like Newcastle, relegation may act as a bit of a colonic irrigation for you guys - clear out the crap and come back healthier. New owner sounds promising...

No idea but I guess by the fact that he is giving interviews and talking about appointing a new manager soon then I guess it will be done soon!

So with Di Matteo in talks with Lazio it looks like it won't be him but apparently odds on Moyes being Villa next manager have fallen a lot recently!

Not Moyes, he's ruled himself out now. Absolutely gutted, he's the one I really wanted.

I expect Di Matteo will go back to Italy, so Pearson it seems to be then.

Shame for Villa... Moyes would have been decent... Pearson could be, but you get the impression he won't be given much leeway if things were to start poorly

To be honest from what ive been reading about the guy who bought the club, i'm actually getting a bit worried, something doesnt seem true about him, he comes across as a bit of a Walter Mitty type, i hope the recent reports are wrong and he is a serious investor with a lot to offer, but there are some red flags already imo.

I'm wondering if its a concern to Moyes as well, and its the reason he has ruled himself out.

I think it's more likely the reason why Moyes has ruled himself out was because he didn't want to drop down to the championship to manage when he would rather manage in the premiership or abroad again!

I'm still hearing rumours that Di Matteo is in the picture but it's looking like either him or Pearson

Well Pearson has gone to Derby so it's looking certain to be Di Matteo as BBC and Sky have been reporting for the last few weeks

It's a very uninspiring appointment when it happens and I fully expect us to be mid table with him as our manager

Sad days at Villa!
