I've not heard of Elphick but he sounds like the sort of player we should be signing in the Championship especially with his experience of the lower leagues!

Well Elphick has become Di Matteo first signing for Villa for a fee rumoured to be about £3 million

Elphick should be a decent signing. He's a solid, committed and reliable player, which is certainly the type you need more of.

Rickie Lambert A prolific scorer required by Villa
http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/spor...brom-11537952? He didn't quite do it for either Liverpool or West Brom |

He would be an OK second choice striker but we would still need another striker!

So nothing has happened in terms of more transfers so far!
We have now got less than a month before the seasons starts for Villa against Sheffield Wednesday |

Great seeing that Petrov was playing the second half for Villa yesterday
He is legend for what he has overcome and to be back playing! |

He is legend for what he has overcome and to be back playing! I would just like to echo your thoughts, no matter what else happens this season, just seeing him back on a pitch again will be and is the best story. He has gone through so much, that to still be able to do this, is quite remarkable really. |

Yeah it is and hopefully he will be able to help the younger midfielders at Villa with his experience
Its great to see Tshibola signing at last from Reading and I'm happy with our signings so far but we still need a new striker! |

Well it seems from the chairman Tony Xia that we will see quite a few departures before anymore arrivals at Villa!

Looks like Idrissa Gueye is going to Everton, probably one of the only players to come out of last season with any credibility.
We were linked to Ross McCormack but now it looks like Norwich will take him ,, he would have been perfect imo |

Fulham turned down Norwich bid of £10m for McCormack as Fulham want £12m for him according to Sky Sports News
Although that report about Everton meeting the release clause for Gueye was reported but one of the chief executives tweeted that it wasn't true so we will see what happens next with him Middlesborough are still being linked to Guzan which is no surprise and I wouldn't be surprised if that deal happens! It's only two and half weeks till the Championship season starts so I would expect to see quite a few players leaving and arriving before the season starts for Villa! |

So Ceiran Clark is having a medical at Newcastle ahead of a £5m transfer from Villa
Why are selling players if we have this £30m transfer fund that we haven't even spent £10m from? |

Looks like we've put in a 12 million bid for Ross McCormack, if we can get him i will feel a bit more positive, i think at this level he's a proven goalscorer.
It looks like we are selling the wrong players to me, i want rid of Lescott and the players who were the bad apples from last year. I think Clark would be decent at this level so to sell him to our league rivals is crazy. |

True as it seems to be hindering our promotion bid by selling him to Newcastle
I'm worried that we only bid for McCormack after selling both Gueye and Clark which covers that bid so where is this transfer fund that Tony Xia promised! I know we have to clear out the squad but it shouldn't be affecting our buying especially this close to the start of the season! |

So Villa transfer bid for McCormack has been accepted by Fulham and Sky Sports News say he is heading for a medical this lunchtime!
Although even if we sign him we have spent less overall than £10m on players this summer after selling both Gueye and Clark! So we still have £20m plus that Tony Xia first promised when he bought the club! |

Well McCormack is now a Villa player and what a great signing!
Let's hope we get a few more in and a few more out before the transfer window shuts! |

Looks like Sinclair has gone to Celtic.
I wonder if Mile Jedinak from Palace is one of those 3 , just looking at reports of us being linked with him |

Yeah I heard about Jedinak yesterday which would be a good signing
Anyway today is the big one as we need to start well in the EFL as it seems most pundits have written us off already for the season! |
