He wouldn't be the worst choice, but I doubt Wagner will jump ship to us when his work at Huddersfield is starting to come to fruition.

It's the right decision to part with Robbie, but I dread to think which clown they'll turn to now....

Personally, I'd try to get Steve Bruce.

We need one of two managers , one who takes no shit from the players, takes no prisoners and who can discipline these players into playing as a team who care, or
a motivational manager who lifts the whole club, someone the fans will enjoy and can lift the atmosphere for home games and one who the players want to play for.

I think in reality we won't be able to pick and choose tbh , i think the only reasonable choice might be Steve Bruce

I just hope we don't get another manager with absolutely no emotion or enthusiasm like RDM and Reme Garde.

It's good to see Di Matteo leave Villa as we needed a change!

The rumours seem to suggest that Steve Bruce,David Wagner and Brentford manager Dean Smith who is a Villa fan himself

Tony Xia has tweeted that a decision will be sooner rather than later despite them taking their time over the international break!

I'm suspecting/assuming that's just a ploy to get the Bruce sceptics to go "well it could've been worse, we could've appointed Steve Cotterill."

Among the out-of-work managers not under consideration at this stage, contrary to media speculation, are former England managers Sam Allardyce and Steve McClaren, suspended Derby County boss Nigel Pearson and former Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs and ex-Burnley and Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill.

So all those names in previous post were not even looked at let alone interviewed!

Steve Bruce is in talks with Villa but Steve Clarke is still being considered for the job!

Seems like it's a two horse race between Steve Bruce and Steve Clarke. Out of those, it really should be Bruce.

Ive not heard any more news on whats happening , seems to me to be a lack of urgency , surely if the owners what Bruce we should go out and get him instead of messing around waiting , if Clarke is to be given the job then announce it , otherwise crack on and get Bruce

Sorry maybe the wrong time to ask that question with all Villa fans concerned with our management situation!

Let's hope we hear more news about Steve Bruce at the start of next week but I've got this worry that we will end up with Steve Clarke!

Bruce is on the England highlights program on ITV, the hints are that he may be announced as manager tomorrow, Bruce probably wasnt going to say anything but the owner has tweeted about an announcement so the presenter asked him, and he didnt deny any of it , so it looks like Bruce will be the manager tomorrow

Sky Sports News and BBC are reporting that Bruce will be our new manager along with the majority of the media

We will see tomorrow if it's true!

Steve Bruce confirmed! Solid appointment, with his experience he's exactly what we need right now. I just hope he gets backed by our fans, the reaction so far has been fairly mixed to say the least.

I was always a fan of the Nike shirts when we were sponsored by Acorns around 2008, so I'd rank any one of those as the best.

Worst...either of the FxPro shirts from a couple of years ago. One year they had checks down the side, the other they had faint claret checks all over the shirts...hated them. Honourable mention to the DWS (or COWS as it looked like) shirts from around 2004/5, they were shit too.

I'm more happier of having Bruce as manager, than i was with McLeish being manager, Bruce feels like the right appointment for me , whereas i was never sure about McLeish tbh

Very happy to see Bruce as Villa new manager as he is perfect fit to sort out the club!

I was slightly worried that we might end up with Steve Clarke but glad to see i was wrong with my worries!

Good appointment but if the owners expect to go back up this season then they could be in for a shock. It's a big job Bruce has on his hands.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Villa sneak into the play-offs actually. Bruce was always an excellent Championship manager at BCFC. Think he's possibly the best choice your owner could have made.
