Half time 1 - 0 to the good

If they cannot and 4th is where they finish it would still represent a great chance of qualifying for the group stages of the CL.

.........If Arsenal don't go all out to win the CL at the expense of where they finish in the EPL as I said If Arsenal win the CL and finish outside the top 4 and we finish fourth we would not qualify for CL , Arsenal would talke the last spot

Can we finish 3rd ? , I think MUFC have the Epl in the bag , Liverpool and Chelsea were far from convincing runners up yesterday , but the Hiddink factor should see Chelsea 2nd , will Liverpool continue to fall apart ?

A win today and we are only a point off 2nd

A strange but brilliant goal by John Carew to put Villa 2-0 up.

Arsenal winning the CL I like a laugh on a Sunday.

2-2. Can't believe it at all. Last couple minutes too. I can see Arsenal finishing 6th if they keep playing like they are.

2-2 to let in 2 goals in the last few minutes of the game is shocking.

Gabby should really have made it 3 but it doesn't seem to be happening for him at the moment. We should still have seen the game out though

Yeah about as unlikely as Stoke going to Villa Park on the 1st March and going 2 - Nil down with 88 minutes gone and still managing to get a 2 - 2 draw , its not going to happen, oh wait...............

or Stoke taking 4 out of the possible 6 points in their games against Villa , whilst Villa can only manage 1 out of the 6 available

Sadly the unexpected is ALWAYS happening and a reason we should be aiming for 3rd place

And this really makes a mockery of saving the players from burn out so they would be fresh for the Stoke game .

great tactics , that didn't work

overpaid players with over large opinions of their skills

Maybe they should only be paid a grand a week with a big payday only if they win , maybe there will be more fight in them and desire to win

After watching the Villa game on football First I can only say decent first half , mediocre second half and Gabby had a stinker he does look jaded and out of sorts as if he as something or some substance on on his mind and Heskey is a waste of £3+ million , Luke Young got further forward than Heskey today

Arsenal will finish above everton. If you want CL football you need to finish above arsenal. Arsenal will finish fourth with ease.

Even with 'ease' in the team they'll finish 5th at best.

I think Villa may even get 3rd place, it's all about the manager.

We have some tough games coming up

Man City, Spurs, Liverpool, Man Utd and Everton.

If we can get through those and still be fairly clear of Arsenal then we should clinch a place in the top four.

It has been a while since Villa last won.

2-0 away to Blackburn on February 7th.

I was at the game yesterday and for Villa to throw it away like that was a disgrace. They were over confident, lacking in concentration and switched off in the last 5 minutes.

Stoke were awful in the first half, slightly better in the second half and shoed a bit on a threat when Fuller came on. All credit to them for not giving up.

If Villa have any pretensions of getting in the Champions League they need to work hard for the whole 90 minutes plus. When was the last time you saw Man U throw a 2 goal lead away with 3 minutes to go?

I've been going down Villa Park for over 40 years so you would think I'd be used to such disappointments. I fear that result was vital and could well have cost us 4th spot. Call me a pessimist but I think we'll fall away now and Arsenal will sneek 4th spot by 1 or 2 points.

So come on Villa prove me wrong and restore my faith.

Quite simply because we have a load of first team players coming back and we are a much better team than Everton.
We are on a three month unbeaten run and can't even score any goals- when our luck changes in front of goal we will close the gap on a faltering Villa team as well.

We'll finish 3rd.

Oh well, if all else fails, we've still got the old dodgy lasagne on the last day of the season trick to fall back on

I wouldn't call it a shock. There has obviously been a falling out since the lap dancing escapade.

I'd be sad to see him go but it's more about who replaces him.

I remember being gutted when Andy Gray left in 1979 but 2 years later we were league champions. There's a thought!

Dream on I hear you say!

Bouma, 30, played the full 90 minutes of Villa's 4-3 reserve team victory over Chelsea at Villa Park.

No results for Tuesday went in our favour

Man City is a must win game for Villa on Weds evening now to stop the gap between 4th and 2nd and 3rd opening up
