Another poor result with games against Spurs, Liverpool, Man United and Everton coming up.
With no win in a month and Arsenal on our heels I am not too optimistic. The UEFA Cup thing didn't work out as planned then. |

I swa the first half Villa were dire , we seem to start the 2nd half brightly when Carew came on , only saw the first hour so its FF on Sky .
Everton drew but with games away at Liverpool , Many Utd and Everton coming up after Spurs the next 4 games will answer a lot of questions Maybe Villa just are not good enough with the current small squad for the top 4 and we are over achieving by been 4th Think Its time for a reality check , and MoN has to question the wisdom of buying Heskey he spends half his time on the wing and the rest in midfield dropping back to pick up the ball |

After seeing the Penalty incident , SWP kicks Milners leg then legs himself up , no wonder he (SWP) was smirking as he was picked off the floor

Seriously I do not think we are a top 4 team...yet. One of the main problems is that we just don't have enough players, so by this point in the season everyone is knackered/doesn't have enough steam.
Still, I could be wrong! |

Lots of possession in the first half but no end product. Less possession and fewer ideas in the second half.
Going into the last 5 minutes of the Stoke game Villa were 8 points up on Arsenal, after the Everton game on April 12th Villa could be 9 points down on Arsenal. Going by recent performances I wouldn't discount that. |

I didn't think we'd score if we were out there all night at one stage as we were shocking with the final ball today. We really lack a penalty box predator because gabby certainly isn't one of those that'l get us 15-20 goals a season.
It looks as if the decision to give away our UEFA cup place was a master stroke If we're in it again next season i hope we make more of an effort to win it as MON will have been at villa for over 3 years, so the small squad excuse won't be valid anymore now he's had plenty of time to build a squad. |

So which team will turn up for the :Luckypool game ?
If its 4 4 2 we have no Bob Hope or if we go 4 5 1 we at least have a chance What is the bet that we let the first goal in.....AGAIN !! |

At the risk of repeating myself NRC is NOT a stand in right back , its just plain crazy playing him there as he is a liability defensively
Either shuffle the pack and take a chance on Shorey or put Milner at RB And drop Heskey , we have dipped drastically since playing 4 4 2 to accommodate him |

I've never understood what the point of buying shorey was if he's not going to play him.
He didnt look too bad when he played in the UEFA cup. We just need to swap it round or something. |

You could say the same about Marlon Harewood we bought for £4 million to warm the bench |

very true.
He should of brought someone just after Brad came on. Instead of waiting 3 minutes from the end to bring Gardener on. We wasn't going to get anything so he might aswell give someone who doesnt usually get a game a run out. Not for 3 mins. |

Shorey has been playing very well of late.
How much of a pain in the arse is Mondays match, 8pm on a bank holiday Monday, my wife is a little pissed off at not being able to go away and then I told her that next bank holiday weekend its Newcastle at home. Nice for telly viewers though. |

Well , Villa cannot now catch Arsenal to get the 4th place , hopefully we will make a charge from here on in to make 5th our own .
Looks like Europa league and bye bye Barry ? But will Liverpool still want him , I don't think they will , even at a cut price deal . Will anyone else want him or will he decide his future really lays at Villa Park for the remainder of a new contract With a year left on his contract would Villa fans take around £5 million and let him in the transfer window or forget the money and hope for a good last season from him . The chance to cash in with Liverpool as passed , maybe GB will realise after the recent `comings and goings at Liverpool that a settled place at Villa is preferential to a couple of seasons on the subs bench every other week at Anfield At 28 Yo its a big decision for him |

Would he get a game at Liverpool? I think not.

It is / was most likely Stevie G who put GB's name forward after a couple of good England performances together |

We finally won a match, forgotten what it felt like. I were lucky enough to get to the match and it was a cracking atmosphere. Least we are in the Uefa Cup again next season and with the prospect of the Birmingham derby again.

I hope we take Europe a bit more seriously next season after only putting out our best side in 2 matches in the whole competition this season. Seeing us back in Europe was one of things i was looking forward to most this season as well and the small squad arguement doesn't really hold much weight now MON has had plenty of time at Villa Park to rebuild. Even though we've missed out on 4th it's still been a great season for us to match what we did last season where we did arguably over-acheive. I just hope we can get in some decent players in the summer now to maybe help us try and push on to the next level.

Need to drop either Petrov or Milner and stick a defensive player in, probably Reo Cocker. Barry, Young Carew and Gabby are always going to create.
It's getting silly now! |

NRC could not defend if his life dedended on it , Milner will run all day and play wherever he is asked to , whilst the attacking players are just not scoring consistently, Gabby looks a tired player it as been a long season for the team .
And the purchase of Heskey seems to be a bad one and with GB looking to exit , the summer is going to be a very interesting time |
