I would think so, although knowing MON's tactics, Milner will probably end up at right back
![]() Gutted about Drenthe if we are to miss out. He'd have been a great signing. |

MON said we need 5 more players so hopefully he has players lined up. At the moment we're 2 players down on last seasons tiny squad so we definitely need 5 players at the bare minimum IMO.

The players we're being linked with don't strike me with confidence.
If the speculation is true, we're going for Sylvain Distin (Ports), Habib Beye (Newc) and Fabian Delph (Leeds). Players who would give us a a few more options, definately, but this season we need quality as well as quantity. |

We're meant to be on the verge of signing Stephen Warnock from Blackburn for £5m which is a tad overpriced IMO for an average player. We've also made bids for Sneijder from Real Madrid and Veloso from Sporting who'd both be great signings but i think we're either going to get one or the other and not both.

Not only overpriced, but left back's not a position we need to strengthen. If we do sign Warnock, it must mean Shorey's going to leave.
Veloso or Sneijder would be fantastic. Also being linked to Madrid's Rafael van der Vaart. Sign one up please, MON! |

Villa win the Peace Cup thingy 4-3 on penalties.
A good showing by a team of mainly young players. |

The Peace Cup might only have been a pre-season friendly tournament, but god I am so thrilled!
![]() ![]() Excellent performance by our team and especially our youngsters, they should be very proud.

Just Distin to go, and I get the full house.![]() I'm more pleased about their arrivals than I was, as we need more players. Still hoping for a player like Sneijder though. |

Saw Heskey on Saturday, nothing to him, lost so much weight. His turn has improved, he is faster, and more importantly, he scored.

Absolutely dreadful performance today.
I knew Wigan wouldn't be easy, but that was an awful effort from most of our squadO'Neill needs to get back into the transfer market. Laursen and Barry have not been adequately replaced, and we also need another striker. Bitterly disappointed. Must do better.

Was trying to bust out of a bookie with a Wigan win half time and full time bet. Wasn't impressed.

That was embarrassing but to be fair Wigan were rather good. Definitely got c0cky and under-estimated them after our good pre-season.

How many months did we go without a victory at the end of last season. The usual excuses were made, small squad, lack of quality in depth Blah! Blah!
Since then we have lost quality players that have been replaced by a bloke from Leeds and a fella with a broken leg. Is O'Neill all that he is made out to be. |

I still think he's a decent manager, but he's seemingly useless when it comes to bringing in the neccessary players.
He's done well so far (last half of last season aside) so I still have faith in his abilities, but this year there can be no more excuses about a small squad/tiredness. I expect some more signings before September though, and decent ones at that. No more players like Harewood, Knight or Salifou. |

Still have faith in MON, but I admit it is starting to waver a bit. Signing at least another striker and two defenders MUST be his priorities, and they'd better be bloody good ones.
Liverpool away...as long as it's not another 5-0 thumping, it can be considered a good result for us.

I hope for Young's sake Carragher didn't make his injury worse by pulling him up. |

![]() ![]() 3-1 at Anfield...what a bloody result!!!![]() ![]() ![]() My faith in MON is restored, and I'm ashamed I ever doubted his abilities. But we cannot afford to get complacent. We STILL need a few more signings and we're sorted. ![]() Double bonus...a defeat for the Fat Spanish Waiter. Up the Villa!
