Haha, I just remembered that Liverpool didn't lose at home in the Premiership last season. Makes this score even better.

Apparently, we've made a bid for Sylvain Distin.

Distin's gone to Everton, but Stephen Warnock's signed for us from Blackburn.
Man City's Richard Dunne is also on the brink of signing...looks like Martin Laursen is finally set to be replaced!

Since the departure of Barry it looks like we are short of a decent penalty taker.

Somewhat surprised O'Neill's gone back to a 4-4-2 and dropped Reo-Coker after Monday's result.
Oh well, we're winning.Come on Villa! *EDIT* 2-0 ...thank you Big John! ![]() ![]()

A great goal by John Carew however with one goal Rapid Vienna would win.

4-4-2's probably the right thing to do at home when teams just come to defend, but i hope we stick with the 4-5-1 counter attack formation away.

I doubt MON would have put our best side out in every round anyway

I wasn't happy last season with the way we approached European games given that before the season began the thing I was looking forward to the most was seeing us back in Europe after 7 years out.
I doubt we would have took it seriously this season given our squads no stronger now than last season. |

I reckon we would've taken it seriously. MON came under heavy fire for playing the reserves in Moscow, and I doubt he'd have dared to do it again.

As a Welsh Villa fan I am delighted to see Ginge signing for us. He is a good quality player and gets his fair share of goals too. If we get Dunne too I would say we have bought wisely.

Dunne has indeed joined us at last.
Downing, Beye, Marshall, Delph, Warnock, Dunne and Collins. Not a bad transfer window, and hopefully all our signings will give us a bit more depth. I will not accept any excuses of tiredness, injuries or a small squad this season. Fingers crossed we can challenge for the top six again and even go for one of the cups. |

Looking forward to Sunday's derby at Birmingham, though (as I am before every derby) I'm not very confident.
The Villa fan in me says a 3-1 win to us. The realist in me says it'll be a 1-1 draw. Hopefully the first prediction is closer.
